Nousa works as a dancer to earn a living and take care of her sick mother; she works with her stepmother, Gamalat, and goes with the troupe to perform at the Mawlid (a carnival to commemorate a Muslim saint).
Asfour gets angry because Omar has left his land for the troupe to use, whereupon Omar rescues them from the police, and Omar's father tries to convince him to marry Maha.
Omar discovers the secret of the works of enchantment that Nousa and her troupe do at the Mawlid, while he tries to evade his father's demands to get close to Maha and marry her.
Nousa leaves the Mawlid, and devises a plot with Omar to take revenge on Kharbush; meanwhile, the relationship between Omar and Nousa strengthens.
Kharbush quarrels with Nousa over associating with Omar, but she prevents him from interfering in her affairs. After Omar is discharged from the hospital, he returns to his work in the factory, and books tickets for the workers at the Mawlid as an incentive.
Nousa goes to meet the engineer Omar who invites her for lunch at his house, with his sister. When Nousa goes to the palace, she’s taken aback by what she sees, whereupon Asfour tries to kick her out, but Omar stops him.
When Nousa returns with Kharbush to the Mawlid, he tells the troupe about her actions with Omar, while she tells her father that he wants to marry her, so he leaves her alone, and Kharbush decides to take revenge on Omar.
After Nousa learns of Omar's betrayal of her, she goes to see him at the factory, but he evades her, and Asfour tells her that Omar is going to marry Maha.
While Omar is in Cairo on business with his father, Mamdouh, Asfour’s son, and his friends go to the Mawlid, where they run riot, only to be stopped by Kharbush, whereupon the troupe is expelled from the land, and Nousa's mother dies.
Kharbush goes to Omar's palace to search for Nousa and quarrels with the guard. Hussein tells Kharbush that Nousa came to the house and that Omar loves her and wanted to marry her.
As Nousa and her troupe start working again, she catches the attention of a village elder, who starts flirting with her. Meshmesh goes to meet Omar and tell him about the troupe's location.
As Nousa escapes from the house of the mayor’s son, the troupe and Omar look for her. Omar finds Nousa lying on the road, so he takes her to the hospital and tells her that he didn’t abandon her and that he will marry her.
Hussein tells his daughter that the governor wants to marry her; Mona tells her father that she refuses to marry Magdy; Asaliya tells the troupe about Nousa's marriage.
Omar talks to Nousa’s lawyers, but they dash his hopes and inform him of the difficulty of getting Nousa released, after which Omar goes to see her in the police station and promises her that he will not leave her.
The troupe starts working at the Mawlid again without Nousa. As Mona talks to her father about her wish to work, he appoints her as his office manager. Fawzia makes peace with Nousa and becomes her friend in prison.
Kharbush catches someone who testified against Nousa about the theft, and he confesses that his testimony against her was by order of Hussein, Omar's father. The sheriff asks Sherif to stay away from Nousa.
Omar goes to visit Nousa in prison. When Asaliya goes to Omar, he tells her about Nousa's whereabouts because of his marriage to the daughter of Abdel Qawi Shadid.
Asaliya goes to Nousa in prison and tells her that Omar got married to help her get out of prison. Gamalat tells Nousa that her father is sick, so Nousa asks Wahiba for money for her father’s treatment and she agrees.
Wahiba agrees to Nousa's request and gives her money for her father’s treatment. The conditions of the Mawlid and the troupe deteriorate in the absence of Nousa.
Abdo’s son goes to medical school. Nousa thanks the officer Sherif for his actions with her. Karim, Asfour’s son, proposes to his father that he marry Mona. The parliamentary elections begin.
Hassan asks Asaliya to visit Nousa, while Gamalat asks Abdel Qawi to give her an apartment to live in. Asaliya and Meshmesh return and tell the troupe of Hassan Kofta's death.
Omar refuses to travel to work with Abdel Qawi. Hussein agrees to marry Gamalat, whereupon they tie the knot. Omar asks Meshmesh to help him visit Nousa.
Wahiba explains to Nousa that Hussein's winning the elections is the plan that will help her recover her right. When Hussein wins the elections, he rewards the troupe. As Omar visits Nousa, she reproaches him for his marriage.
Gamalat asks Hussein to hire Kharbush. Maha confesses to Omar the lie of her pregnancy. When the officer Sherif is transferred from his job, he says goodbye to Nousa, to whom he confesses his love.
Asaliya goes to Nousa and tells her that the sheriff has refused Omar's visit to her. Omar asks Abdel Qawi to replace him with engineer Karim in the Spain office.
Nousa gets out of prison and goes with the personal guards of Wahiba, who signs over a huge fortune to Nousa to be her safety net in life, whereupon Nousa starts ignoring Omar.
Nousa goes to meet Abdel Qawi and tells him about the business ideas that she wants to implement in Egypt. Hussein asks Nousa to partner up with her in her projects, and tells her that Omar married Maha of his own accord.
Samiha and Abdel Qawi propose that Hussein marry, whereas Sherif goes to Nousa and proposes to her, trying to save her from the path she wants to take.
Abdel Qawi tells his wife about Hussein's marriage to Gamalat, while she tells him that Omar wants to leave Maha. Nousa agrees with Kharbush to take revenge on Hussein.
Maha quarrels with Omar. As Malak goes to visit Abdel Qawi, she tells him that she is Nousa and that she is the reason why he went to prison. Omar discovers the corruption of Mamdouh and Asfour in the factory and expels them.
