Unable to have children, the Hajja tries to wed her husband to another so that he could have a boy, choosing Khadija, the daughter of their employee Abu Jomaa, as the bride. When Najat visits Fatima and tells her that her father wants what he had entrusted to her, Fatima yells at her.

The Hajja tells Abu Jomaa that she wants to wed his daughter to the Hajj, getting both his and Khadija's approval. Fearing that Khadija could give the Hajj a son to inherit all his fortune, Fatima asks Hamad to propose to Khadija before she could marry the Hajj.

When the Hajj goes back on his decision to wed Khadija, the latter grows mad and leaves the house. The Hajj marries Najat despite her disapproval of the match, but as the Hajj treats her well and gifts her gold jewelry, Najat's mother tries to convince her that she will have a good life with him.

Though Najat changes her stance towards the Hajj, she takes contraceptives behind his back. Hamad proposes to Khadija. Mostafa asks the Hajj to mediate for him with the engineer so that he could join the association.

When Hamad gets in an accident, the Hajja and Abu Jomaa visit him at the hospital, as does the Hajj. When Najat tells Fatima that her son is in love with Khadija, Fatima remains insistent that Khadija is not suited for him due to her strong character. The Hajj talks to his lawyer about his property.

When the Hajj discovers that Najat is taking contraceptives, he decides to leave her since his main purpose in marrying her was to have kids. Hamad enlists Saeid's help to identify the man who ran him over. The Hajja gets angry when the Hajj tells her about Najat's actions.

When the Hajj dies, the lawyer reveals his will, which acknowledges Hamad as the Hajj's legitimate son and provides documents that prove that the Hajj and Fatima were once married before getting a divorce. Hamad is devastated to learn that his father abandoned him to Abu Jomaa to raise him instead.

Unable to process that he is the Hajj's son, Hamad quarrels with Fatima for keeping the truth about him. Najat's mother arrives at the house to defend her daughter's rights to her late husband's inheritance. Mostafa leads the workers' protests as they demand their rights.

Walid asks to meet Abu Jomaa to discuss an important matter. Abu Jomaa decides to take his children and visit Najat. Hamad tries to get his father's land back from Hajj Abu Azza, who was his father's partner.

When Najat starts going out with a young man, she reveals that she used to be married to the Hajj. As Radwan starts working as a teacher in a remote rural area, Najat goes looking for him. Abu Jomaa wants to leave the neighborhood and go to the city after receiving his daughter's inheritance.

When Radwan tells Najat that he wants to end their relationship, the devastated Najat goes to stay with Naeima to avoid going to her parents' house. As he buys a cafe, Abu Jomaa asks Khadija to work with him, leading Walid to catch feelings for her.

As Abu Jomaa befriends Walid, Khadija gets close to Walid. Radwan struggles to deal with his students' neglectful parents. Fatima begs the Hajja for forgiveness, recounting how the Hajj divorced her when he learned that she was pregnant.

When Najat meets Radwan again, she asks him to marry her, but he refuses. Yehia confesses to Hamad that he is the one who ran Hamad over. Abu Jomaa demands a share of the Hajj's land from his partner. Najat decides to stay with Naeima after Radwan rejects her.

When Souad reveals Najat's location to Majeed, he visits her, along with the Hajja and a legal official, to urge her to cancel the procuration she gave Abu Jomaa. Majeed asks Radwan to resolve the issue with Najat. Abu Jomaa gets angry when he learns about the canceled procuration.

When Najat gives birth to a daughter, Radwan decides to marry her to legitimize his daughter before divorcing her. Abu Jomaa and his wife agree for the latter to convince her daughter to let Abu Jomaa handle her inheritance. Yehia befriends Hamad.

When Najat gives her daughter to the Hajja to raise, Najat's mother grows angry and threatens to file a report against the Hajja if she doesn't give her the girl. The Hajja soon learns that Abu Jomaa is behind the whole thing. Mostafa tries to reconcile with Souad, but Melodia kicks him out.

As Radwan continues facing trouble with his students, one of his colleagues informs him that his predecessor faced the same problem. Najat's mother looks for her. Souad reconciles with Mostafa. Abu Jomaa becomes rich after seizing a part of the land.

Hajj Abu Azza goes to court in an attempt to get back the land that Abu Jomaa seized from him. Saeid rejoices when the truth about Abu Jomaa's dishonest ways comes to light. Hamad visits Abu Jomaa.

As Radwan leaves the school and goes back to his hometown, he visits the Hajja to see his daughter, but she tells him to get Najat's approval first. After losing everything, Abu Jomaa looks for a small house to move into, along with his wife and sons.

When Radwan proposes to his colleague Jamila, she questions him about his relationship with Najat. Hamad manages to restore the ranch to its former glory. Abu Jomaa goes back to being a humble worker. As Mostafa returns from France, he makes a deal with Hajj Abu Azza to work with him at the tannery.
