The Makhzen men detain Masouda's son while she weeps over him, as the Makhzen state practice oppression and slavery on the region's residents. Mubaraka asks the commander to find a solution with Manana because she no longer obeys her.
The commander asks El Abdi to send Ziad’s sons to Dar El Karma, while the latter takes the girl whom the commander is holding to the house with his wife and she becomes his daughter. The Lt. Col. robs the lands of the inhabitants by force.
Mubaraka locks Manana away after beating her. El Abdi finds himself in an unenviable position when the commander's son asks him to sit down with the girl and talk to her.
El Abdi refuses to wed the girl he adopted to Saleh. The commander receives a pistol as a gift from someone who works for France, and he also requests more weapons.
As the girl goes to visit Saleh while he is bedridden, he reveals his love to her. El Abdi brings herbs to his wife to give to the girl so that she'd gain strength, so she feels that her husband likes the girl.
Manana asks Saleh to go to meet her father El Abdi, after he asked to meet him, so he goes to him, hoping that he will agree to the marriage. The commander sends to bring money from the owners of the land in El Karma.
El Abdi tells Saleh that his father, the commander, always robs the livelihoods of the simple peasants, and no one can stand up to him, which grieves Saleh. Mubaraka asks the governess not to approach Saleh again. In El Karma, commander Issa Bin Omar agrees with his men to take money from the peasants.
Saleh rebukes Mustafa for buying a weapon, but the latter justifies that by saying that he wants to defend himself and his mother if he is subjected to persecution again. Zaidoun tells El Abdi that it was he who saved him.
Mustafa asks for his mother's permission to buy El Sabbah and she insists on knowing from whom he bought it. El Abdi thinks about devising a plan before the commander returns.
As commander Issa continues to oppress people by taking their lands by force, Saleh tries to stand up to him by gathering some peasants to defend themselves and their livelihoods.
Mubaraka quarrels with Zahra for leaving the house and searching for her father's real identity, while Saleh meets the nanny and tries to get close to her. Zaidoun and El Abdi talk about how to confront the commander.
As Saleh becomes the district judge, he tries to be fair in his judgments, he also meets Zaidoun, El Abdi and Mustafa. El Abdi quarrels with his wife who wants to leave the house.
Commander Issa returns and refuses that Saleh marries the girl he loves. As El Abdi informs him of this, Saleh grieves a lot and asks his friend to advise him of a solution. El Abdi meets the commander and pretends to blindly obey him.
As Saleh meets his beloved Manana and asks her to run away with him, she refuses and goes to the mother of Ruqayya the fortune teller to read her fortune and guide her. El Mahdi meets Zaidoun to get news of El Karma.
The French guests stay in the house of commander Issa in order to agree to buy lands from him. Saleh meets his sweetheart and they spend a good time together. Mubaraka is sick and the fortuneteller goes to her to give her some herbs so that she may recover.
Mubaraka drinks the herbs that the fortune teller gave her but does not recover, so she tries to show the commander and his second wife that she is strong. El Abdi believes Zaidoun is dead, but the commander denies this.
As Mubaraka's condition worsens, she sends Halima to bring the fortune teller to treat her. Saleh talks with Soleiman about his desire to marry Manana. The commander receives complaints from some people in the area instead of Saleh.
As a new judge comes from the governorate of Mahdia from Tunisia, the judge doesn't like him because he is principled and resorts to justice and law. Saleh is upset because his father removed him from his position and disapproved of his marriage.
As Saleh insists on marrying Manana, Mubaraka asks the commander to agree to this marriage for his benefit. The commander asks El Abdi to bring Manana to speak with her.
El Abdi detains Saleh in a cell after he suggested to the commander that he tells everyone that he's dead so that Manana would forget him. Mubaraka is still drinking herbs to heal. The commander doesn't like Mustafa staying with the judge.
The commander asks El Abdi to marry Manana and she agrees provided that he holds a big wedding for her, while Saadia is surprised by Manana because she thought she loved Saleh.
The commander marries Manana, whom he becomes in love with, and takes her to spend a honeymoon far from the tribe. The fortune teller is dying, and her daughter Ruqayya grieves a lot. Saleh goes out to stay in a place far from the area with someone mute.
Manana feels tired, so the commander brings her medicine, hoping that she is pregnant, while she tries to use him as much as possible. Saleh escapes from his place as his friend helps him.
As Manana goes out to visit El Abdi, Mubaraka tells the commander that she sent Masouda with her, while he sits in the place of the judge and tries to look into some cases. Saleh and his friend are still in the abandoned house by the sea.
Saleh lives with his friend who teaches him the Qur’an and jurisprudence. As Manana makes the commander sleep outside her room, he pleads with her to let him in but she refuses. El Abdi controls all the guards in the commander's house.
El Abdi seizes many lands without the commander's knowledge, but the judge and the Lt. Col. expose him. the commander only cares about Manana and asks Mubaraka to monitor her.
Ibn El Muti gets arrested by El Abdi's men, but he manages to escape and catch up with his close friend Saleh, who is very happy to see him. Mubaraka is glad because she is in control of the commander.
The commander discovers that Saleh has recruited men and wants to stand up to him for his oppression of the peasants, so he asks El Abdi to find a solution to this problem. Saleh knows about Manana’s marriage to his father.
The ruler sends a new commander to Jinan El Karma, which upsets commander Issa who asks for help from El Abdi. Manana feels desperate and tries to escape to the sea. Saleh and his comrades plan to liberate the region from the oppression of the commander and El Abdi.
The new commander takes office after the removal of commander Issa, and Saleh and his comrades return to Jinan El Karma. Manana becomes mad because of her excessive grief over Saleh while El Abdi tries to escape.
