After graduating from college, Sameh is hired as a science teacher in a poor village. Meanwhile, the teacher Sabri seeks to marry Azza, who is younger than him, while Sabri is worried about Sameh living near Azza.
Azza begins to like Sameh, and coincidence brings the two of them together as supervisors of a school trip to Cairo. Azza meets Sameh's sister Nawal, and Azza's mother is still seeking to gain the approval of Sabri in order to get him to marry her daughter so that they can all enjoy his wealth.
A romance develops between Sameh and Azza, while Sabri imposes his control over Azza's mother with money to convince her to marry her off to him. As they continue to meet near the canal, Sameh promises Azza that he will do his best to propose to her during the summer vacation.

As Sameh and Azza are surprised by the news of her pregnancy, he asks her to have an abortion due to their difficult situation. Azza's mother manages to convince her to file for divorce, and Sameh separates from Azza based on her wishes, while he starts his job at the oil company.
Sameh agrees to travel abroad on a company mission. As Azza's condition worsens, she loses the baby, after which she marries Sabri, and they have a baby. Sameh returns from the mission that lasted five years.
Nabil proposes to marry Nawal, and Fatima hides from Sameh that Ahmed is Sabri's son. Sameh is forced to work at the company's headquarters in Cairo due to his poor medical condition as a result of his work in the desert.
Sameh meets Sahar the painter in Alexandria, and Azza tells her husband that Sameh called to ask to meet her. Sameh is still in love with Azza, while Sabri becomes suspicious of Azza and he thinks about separating from her.
As Sameh tells Sahar his story, she advises him to confront Sabri. Sameh meets with Sabri and Azza, who denies Ahmed’s lineage to Sameh, while Sameh makes sure that Ahmed is not his son thanks to Dr. Nashat, and a romance develops between Sameh and Sahar.
