Damian and his brother Jason were born into an ancient equestrian family. As they are preparing to compete in the prestigious Melbourne Cup equestrian race, Jason dies in a car accident a few days before it begins. As a result, Damian becomes frustrated and decides to withdraw from the race and not ride a horse again, but his coach encourages him to participate in the race.
