Ismail tells the story of his partner Saman, who refused to give alms and claimed miserliness, which prompted his son to rob him, after which Saman became a beggar.

Akram accuses his friend Omira of stealing, but Ismail refuses, so Akram tries to expose Omira in front of the governor so that his house would be demolished as part of a canal construction project, but it is Akram's house that gets demolished.

Akram always thinks bad of everyone around him, even his friend Ibn Ahmed, and he tries to trap him to make sure whether he stole his money or not.

Nasser's uncle disavows him after his father's death, so Nasser's grandmother tries to convince his uncle to spend on him using the money left by his brother Abu Nasser (Nasser's father) and gain the reward of sponsoring an orphan.

Omira refuses to support his mother, while his wife urges him to seize all the money of his late brother and sell his old mother's house.

The merchants are upset that Ismail sells fabrics at a lower price than the market, and when Ibn Ahmed asks him, he tells him that he earns little and does not take advantage of people's needs. Ismail's young daughter falls ill.

Nafeh tries to drive a wedge between Ismail and Harith, and Ibn Ahmed's mother dies.

Nafeh succeeds in convincing Harith of killing. Ismail's daughter dies, and he grieves greatly and believes that Harith caused her death, but the innocence of both of them becomes clear after Nafeh has driven a wedge between them.

The minister agrees with the merchant Saman to put pressure on Ibn Ahmed in order for him to pay off his debt to him, but the latter will not have enough money until the caravan returns. Harith thinks of borrowing from Ismail to help Ibn Ahmed.

Omira's wife complains all the time about his miserliness, and at the same time, Akram offers him to work with him by mixing his rotten goods with Ismail's so that he can sell them.

Ismail falls ill after Omira betrays him, and the latter opens his new shop, but all the buyers boycott him, while Ibn Ahmed decides to make peace between them and blames Omira for seizing Ismail’s money.

Everyone celebrates Eid and congratulates Ismail. The minister agrees with Saman to convince Harith to take money from him and trade with it, so Ibn Ahmed doubts his intention.

Harith buys some fake jewelry that looks like Ghassan's jewelry that he put in his care and exchanges it, while Ghassan agrees with the thief Justin to steal the jewelry and accuses Harith of losing it, but Ibn Ahmed finds out.

With the help of Nafeh and Ghassan, the minister decides to send some people to the governor to praise the minister for his good dealings with them. The governor appoints Ibn Ahmed to collect zakat in some places in the country, but the minister gets upset about that and thinks he has been dismissed.
