Safiya takes care of Ruqayya because her mother has been expelled by Rushdie, and Ruqayya and the two young men ask their aunt to show them where their mother is.

Zahira wishes to see her children. Two young men are arrested for being linked to the regime of Kemal Atatürk, who carried out the coup in Turkey.

Zahira is expelled from the area and her hut is burned, after which she goes to Rushdie's house as she suspects him of being responsible for the matter, but she discovers that the men of the British occupation are behind it all.

Salem returns to his home and meets his aunt and sister. Zahira remembers how the Pasha raped her and then married her against her will, upon which she feels very sad.

Selim likes his cousin very much, and she feels the same. He decides to stay with his mother, who advises him to get to know the area.

Abdullah asks Salem to visit his family in Baghdad before thinking of traveling, while Zahira discovers her son Selim's relationship with his cousin and scolds him.

Selim asks for Tuwayra's hand in marriage. The Pasha asks his assistant to bring his children from Al Maidi area against their will.

Selim returns to the palace and leaves Ruqayya and Salem with his mother. Mahmoud asks Salem to spread awareness among people, after which Salem goes to prison on charges of inciting people against the British occupation and the liberation of Iraq.

Salem is released from prison after many attempts by his mother, but the Pasha sends Ruqqaya to an unknown place so that she wouldn't be able to return to her mother. Salem tries to question Safiya and Matar, but to no avail.

Salem opens a small clinic in the area to treat the poor, while Selim decides to go to Baghdad to find out where Ruqayya is, and she wishes to return to her mother and leave the place she went to.

Selim and his friend Abdelkader work to urge people to turn against the British occupiers. Ruqayya returns home and to school, but she soon quarrels with her father because she wants to visit her mother.

Salem marries Tuwayra, and Zahira holds a simple wedding for them. He also participates with his colleagues in an attempt to liberate Iraq from the British occupation.

Rushdie sends his men to search Salem's house, and Salem discovers that his father did that.

Zahira decides to move with her two sons and Tuwayra to live in the city. The Pasha's men set fire to Salem's clinic.

The Pasha's men set fire to Zahira's land and flee by sea. The Pasha sees Zahira but doesn't give her attention.

Selim takes his wife to the palace in Baghdad and introduces her to Safiya. Ruqayya wishes to see her brothers, but her father refuses to let her see them. Mahmoud begins to publish his ideas against the British occupation in the newspaper.

As Rushdia and Ruqayya return to Baghdad, Mahdi visits them, and Ruqayya likes him. Demonstrations intensify all over Iraq, and the Pasha worries about ​his family, while the police arrest Abdelkader.

Sheikh Mahouder quarrels with the Pasha and threatens him because he refused to marry his sister Rushdia off to him. Tuwayra discovers that she is pregnant.

Mahouder is caught by Hamid and his group, while Mahdi suffers some fractures during the demonstrations.

Abdelkader is released from prison and meets his comrades, and they plan to stand up to the British colonialism. The Pasha goes to meet the King.

The British police chase Salem and his group of anti-colonialists, injuring a number of them with varying degrees. The Pasha sends money to Salem in order to travel for treatment.

Salem travels with his family for treatment at Dr. Thompson's hospital, but he does not find him. Tuwayra gives birth in the same hospital where Salem is being treated.

Everyone is eagerly waiting in the waiting room of the hospital to know if Salem's surgery has succeeded. Tuwayra kisses the Pasha's hand so that he'd be pleased with her.

The citizens demand that King Faisal step down and that Iraq become independent. The surgery ends and Zahira enters the room to check on her son. Meanwhile, Tuwayra visits her parents at the hotel.

Salem's son stays at the Pasha's house, and Abdelkader rallies his comrades to stand up to the British occupation.

Rushdie asks Rushdia to tell Zahira that she can live in the Grand Palace with her children, but Zahira refuses.

Zahira returns to her home after she refuses the Pasha's offer that she return to the palace. Hamid quarrels with his friend Turki because he told his life story to Abdullah, who publishes it in the newspaper where Abdelkader works.

Salem is discharged from the hospital and returns healthy to his mother. Ruqayya wants to live with her mother, so she visits her, and her brothers are happy to have her with them.

Rushdie goes to convince his two sons to bring Zahira and live with him in the palace. Matar confronts Rushdia with the fact that he is her cousin and threatens to expose the matter, so she seeks help from Shawkat.

Zahira is convinced to go live in the Al-Bustan house, while Salem and Selim settle in Baghdad in the palace.
