A thief sneaks into the house of Azmi Bek, causing panic among his family, so he calls the police and have them investigate the incident. Sherif beats up a man who insults him and ridicules his father’s job. Yasmine suffers from being commanded and pushed around by her brother-in-law.

Azmi Bek suspects that the intruder came to peep in on the women of his house. Meanwhile, he continues his charity work, whereas the jobless Sherif complains that his father's profession brings him shame.

Azmi continues to supply the people of the alley with wheat, while Nadera tells him that she saw a shadow at the balcony. Abu Jawad gets suspicious of his son for his frequent disappearance from home.

Jawad denies to the police commissioner that he is the voyeur. Sheikh Saleh hangs a leaflet at the mosque to warn people about the presence of a thief in the neighborhood, where Sherif starts a fire that causes panic.

Yasmine has a terrifying nightmare about crawling creatures. Azmi shoots at the voyeur who manages to escape. Ghareeb attacks Yasmine’s parenting style and prevents her from leaving the house. Sherif's family wonders where he got his money from.

Gharib begins harassing Yasmine for refusing to marry him. Abu Sherif (Sherif’s father) denies him his wish to marry Azmi Bek’s daughter, Amal, because of their different social statuses. Umm Mustafa (Mustafa's mother) asks for Amal's hand in marriage for her son.

Azmi’s handouts reach Yasmine. Shahd expresses her fear of Gharib to her mother. Sherif puts something in the alley’s water well, cutting off the water supply and leaving a vile smell.

The people of the alley manage to solve the water cut off crisis. Gharib beats Yasmine’s sons, as she insists on refusing to marry him.

Azmi inquires about Mustafa to make sure he is suitable for Amal. As Saeed takes a liking to Yasmine, his friend advises him to ask Azmi about her.

Azmi rejects Mustafa's proposal, as the latter can't stand up to his mother. Yasmine takes care of her mother-in-law while she’s ill. Sherif questions Jawad about the wheat Azmi is storing while giving handouts to the people of the alley.

Abu Diab warns Jawad not to contact Sherif. Azmi quarrels with Saeed over the age difference between him and Yasmine, and gets her address from him.

Azmi meets with Sheikh Saleh and Aziz Effendi to discuss the matter of Aziz's marriage to Yasmine, who asks for Abu Raouf’s help with a legal problem.

As Fouad questions Ankoosh to find out the identity of the vandal, the latter denies any connection with the matter. As Sherif steals daggers, a pistol and a box of gold from Abu Adly's house, the latter shoots at him and wounds him while fleeing.

Jawad’s girl sees Sherif hiding the stolen goods on the roof of a house. Natheer gives a statement to the police, who find the thief's belongings among Ankoosh's stuff, whereupon the latter is arrested and Marwan is kept in custody.

Sherif escapes from the neighborhood to a remote area. Ankoosh is held in prison. Azmi gives his approval to Amal and Mustafa’s marriage upon Nahla's insistence. Yasmine puts her house up for sale due to lack of money.

When Marwan refuses to testify about the thief, Fouad assigns informants to watch him to find out the truth.

Jawad stops seeing his lover, as her uncle moves in with her. Ankoosh's henchman delivers to him news about the neighborhood and the search for the thief. Yasmine rebuffs Abu Raouf's advances. Raafat conveys to Azmi news of his graduation from medical school and returning soon.

Azmi looks over Yasmine’s house to buy it for his son, upon which she asks to deal with Azmi directly without having Abu Raouf as a middleman. Nahla speaks with Amal about Mustafa’s proposal to marry her.

Abu Raouf notices that he’s being shunned by Yasmine, who asks Azmi to marry her to protect her from other men.

Sherif agrees with Abu Aref to buy a shipment of oil to supply his neighborhood with. The judge oversees the sale of Yasmine’s house, as he is the guardian of her two orphan children.

Azmi gives Abu Raouf his commission and has him sign for the money received, while Yasmine keeps the key to the house. Azmi becomes infatuated with Yasmine, as she confesses her love to him. Jawad’s girl tells him about the unknown whom she saw rummaging through the rubble.

Azmi's family notices his constant absent-mindedness. While drunk, Marwan finds a gold ring in the garbage, which he keeps after Abu Hassan refuses to help him find its owner. Sherif closes a business deal with Abu Habib and Abu Aref.

Sheikh Saleh proves Radhi's innocence after his family accused him of stealing the ring that Marwan had found. Natheer drops the case of the stolen goods, in return for Ankoosh finding the real thief.

When Yasmine visits Azmi's house after he’s been avoiding her, he rebukes her. During Raafat’s welcome party Abu Raad informs Azmi that their men will transport weapons, whereas the policeman informs Azmi that the French colonel is coming to his house on a secret visit.

It's revealed that the colonel's visit was to ensure the loyalty of Azmi and his son to the French government. Yasmine is devastated by Azmi’s refusal to marry her in secret, whereas his friend advises him to officially marry her.

Sherif suspects that his shipment was stolen upon the driver’s disappearance. Azmi assures Raafat that he will soon get his clinic. Yasmine agrees to marry Azmi in the presence of two witnesses.

Sherif steals Abu Habib's safe then returns home, convincing his family that he has become a merchant, but Ghalib suspects him after seeing a dagger with him. Azmi sets a date for marrying Yasmine.

Azmi rejects Sherif's proposal for a business partnership between them. Azmi and Yasmine get married, upon which Nahla feels that he’s treating her differently. Sherif's brother sees the scar on the former's arm.

When Sherif burns down Sultan's warehouse, Azmi pledges to help him; meanwhile Azmi's daughter believes that whoever burned the granary, burned the warehouse as well.

The judge concludes the house transaction between Azmi and Yasmine. When Abu Raouf sees Azmi visiting Yasmine’s house, he starts chasing her. Sherif hires Ankoosh's men and builds a wheat storehouse in the alley.

Sherif’s return shocks Marwan, who keeps the fact that he saw him on the day of the accident a secret, whereas news spreads in the alley that Sherif’s money is dirty. Fouad summons Sherif to the police station, causing him to worry.

Sherif orders his men not to tell Fouad that they work with him. Yasmine showers Azmi with gifts and pampers him. Sherif visits Azmi again, and asks him to marry his daughter, upon which Azmi refuses and kicks him out.

The village chief (El Mukhtar) reveals to Abu Sherif that his son has insulted Azmi and warns him not to let it happen again. Yasmine rebukes Abu Raouf for chasing her. Sherif’s brother sees a picture of the former’s dagger with Natheer’s father, which confirms that he’s the thief.

Umm Mustafa gets her son an amulet from a sorceress. Rashad robs Shukri, then kills him and hands the money to Azmi. The police arrest Abu Raouf for harassing Yasmine. When Mustafa and Amal get married, Yasmine meets Nahla during the wedding.

As Gharib blackmails Yasmine with a photo of hers, she threatens him with a weapon, then Sherif sees him escaping from her apartment. Two agents from the Ministry of Justice detain Rashad and surprise Azmi with shocking news.
