When a young woman is murdered, Lt. Col Sayed is called in to investigate. He questions the residents of the building where she was found, including Hamada who is an old acquaintance. Sayed assaults Hamada and reveals to one of his friends that Hamada is a pimp.

2nd Episode

Sayed's wife goes to her friend's house, and she is envious of the luxurious house she lives in. Sayed is summoned to the directorate where his boss scolds him for beating Hamda. As Sayed and his wife attend the party to celebrate their friends' wedding anniversary, they meet Hamda there.

3rd Episode

Sayed and his wife argue about what she was wearing at the party. Sayed's mother tells him that his young brother wants to marry his late brother's ex-fiancée. Sayed gets back home, searches his wife's wardrobe and finds a dress that is almost identical to the dress the dead girl was wearing.

4th Episode

Sayed tries to make it up to his wife after their argument. He gets a search warrant for a suspect's villa and finds blood on a pillow. He arrests Hamada who has the keys to the villa. Meanwhile, Sayed's brother and his lover ask their aunt to convince his mother of their marriage.

Sanya tries to convince her sister to let her son marry his lover. Sanya's husband goes to this show where he's interviewed as a religious man. The questions embarrass him and he finds out that they were written by his nephew, Nabil. He gets back home and quarrels with Nabil.

6th Episode

It is revealed that Sa'ad is married to another woman, a salon's owner, and he gives religious lessons to women at her place. The investigation resumes, and Sayed meets the dead girl's father who tells him they came to Cairo to find her a job through Hamada's connections.

7th Episode

Sayed meets Eglal, Hamada's ex-wife, and she tells him she knows nothing about Hamada and recounts to him how their marriage ended. Eglal threatens Hamda to stay away from her and her children. Sayed goes to Hamada's house where Bothaina tries to seduce him but he rejects her and leaves.

8th Episode

Hamada visits Eglal, and upon his return, Bothaina tells him Sayed was there and assaulted her. Two detectives take Hamada to Sayed at the police station, and when the former badmouths Sayed's wife, Shahehnda, Sayed has his men abuse Hamada and films them doing it.

The security director tells Sayed that he knows what he did to Hamada and that Sayed is to be investigated. When Hamda tells Jamila he wants to take revenge on Sayed, Jamila urges him to wait as luck unfolds surprises, pleasant for Hamada, and the opposite for Sayed.

On her way out of the hairdresser's, Hamada meets Shahenda and gives her a diamond necklace from her ex-lover. Sayed investigates the case of a married woman who slept with another man and tells her husband he could sue her for adultery, which the husband refuses to save the family's reputation.

When Hamada sees that Sayed has neither been investigated nor suspended from work, he decides to take the law into his own hands and hurt Sayed through his wife.

Sayed goes to the North Coast to meet his wife Shahenda and ask her if she knows Hamada, and she tells him that her mother invites him for parties. Shahenda's mother asks Sayed to divorce her daughter, but the daughter asks her mother not to interfere in her life.

13th Episode

The investigation resumes, and Sayed is quite sure if Hamada is not the murder, then at least he was involved in some other way, and he gets a sample of his semen. Omar tells Sayed that he has a crush on Dalia, Shahenda's sister, and Sayed tells him she inherited her mother's worst characteristics.

Sherine begs Mohsen to marry her, even an unregistered marriage. Eglal quarrels with Hamada and tells him that Mohsen's friendship with their son Samir will only corrupt him. Hamada speaks with Mohsen and asks him to keep the children out of their business.

Sanya meets Jamila who tells her that she attends her husband Sa'ad's lessons. When she returns home, Sanya suggests undergoing IVF to have children, which Sa'ad vehemently opposes. When Nousa tells Hamada she's pregnant, he gets violent and urges her to abort the baby.

As the State Security arrest Nabil for his political activism, Dawlat gets sick and asks Sanya to call Sayed and begs him to use his connections to have Nabil released.

Dawlat goes on a hunger strike. Sayed tries to negotiate with the Ministry of Interior to release his brother. Shahenda returns to Cairo to stand by her husband in his adversity. Al-Shenaweya dies, and Hamada is grief-stricken because she was like a mother to him.

As Shahenda tries to support Dawlat, the latter shuns and mistreats her. Sayed and Kamal arrest the members of a wife-swapping network. When Kamal tells Sayed he suspects that his wife Laila is seeing someone else, Sayed monitors her and learns she is in a relationship with a businessman.

Sayed tells Laila that only her death will suffice for atonement, and a hysterical Laila consults a therapist. Laila informs Shahenda of what Sayed said to her, and later that night, she commits suicide. Sayed offers his condolences to Hamada, but that doesn't mean their feud has ended.

Shahenda gets melancholic following her best friend's death, especially since her daughter believes Sayed to be involved in her mother's death. Kamal and Sayed quarrel and exchange recriminations, but the forensic report proves that the cause of death is circulatory collapse.

Sayed comes clean to his mother about his inability to have children and tells her that Shahenda has been patient. Dawlat apologizes to Shahenda. Shahenda asks for a divorce, but Sayed tells her he can't live without her. Sayed begs for Kamal's forgiveness.

Kamal is at a loss for words when his daughter keeps asking about her mother. Shahenda quarrels with Sayed over their divorce and returns to the North Coast. Nousa begs Hamada to allow her to keep the child and she will ask him for nothing else, but he refuses.

Nousa goes to the doctor to have an abortion. Sanya and Bothaina ask Dar Al-Ifta (the house of religious rulings) if IVF is religiously forbidden. Sayed arrests a prostitution network headed by Jamila.

Sayed watches Mohsen Al-Sawahly's house and learns that Sherine frequents his place. When Sayed asks Eglal about it, they learn that they have an unregistered marriage. Sayed reveals that Mohsen is a pimp.

Eglal tells Hamada about Sherine and Mohsen. He goes to Mohsen's house and stabs him and then has a stroke. Hamada is rushed into the hospital, and upon waking up, he tells Sayed he is ready to talk about Hania's murder and starts to recount the story.

As Sayed starts interrogating Hamada and Mohsen on Hania's death, what they give him are contradictory accounts of the incident, leaving him at sixes and sevens.

The investigation resumes as Mohsen tells Sayed the murderer is Samer. Meanwhile, when Hamada tells Sayed about his relation with Shahenda, Sayed gets mad and goes to the North Coast to confront her. He slaps her and she insists on a divorce.

Sayed eventually gets Jamila's address and she tells him she knows so much about him, and she is the one who got him out of his dilemma with Hamada. She also tells him it was she who saw the mole on his wife's body, and Sayed feels guilty for suspecting his wife.

As Sayed sees his uncle Sa'ad's rosary with Jamila, he asks to meet him and divulges to the family that he is married to Jamila. Dawlat is heavy-hearted as it's the first day of Ramadan without her son Nabil with her. She asks Eglal and Samir to come and break their fast with her.

Eglal tells her children Sherine and Samir about their father's business. Sayed quits his job and asks Shahenda to come back to him; she accepts. Hamada divorces Nousa. Nabil returns home safely. Dawlat approves Nabil and Bothaina's wedding.
