Atwa objects to the singer Hassan’s singing at the wedding of Hajj Ibrahim’s son, but Hajj insists on Hassan’s singing. Naima tells her friend Fatima that she has fallen for Hassan. Naima's father, Metwally, tells Hajj Ibrahim that he will wed his daughter to her cousin Atwa.

As Naima pleads with her father not to wed her to Atwa, he tells her that she will marry him anyway. Atwa sends his men to prevent Hassan and his friend Saleh from entering the village. Hassan asks Hajj Ibrahim to pass on his wish to marry Naima to her father Metwally.

Atwa plots to sabotage Hassan's singing at the wedding of Hajj Amin’s daughter, as he tells his sidekicks that he’ll slip a Mickey into his drink so that he’d fall asleep, and not be able to sing, only to have his plot ruined by Subaiha’s son, who drinks Hassan’s drink.

When Atwa discovers that Naima went out without her father's knowledge, he goes to her home to beat her, but her uncle Hajj Ibrahim intervenes and slaps him, whereupon Hajj Ibrahim tells Hassan that Metwally refused to wed Naima to him.

Hajj Ibrahim tells Metwally that Atwa burned down the house of Hassan the singer, warning him of his actions. Subaiha’s son hits Atwa on his head, whereupon Hassan is accused of being the one who did it.

As Atwa plots with a dancer to meet Naima and tell her that Hassan is her husband, she gets angry at Hassan. When Hajj Metwally gets sick, Hassan visits him. As Naima passes around drinks, she tells Atwa that it’s for their future marriage, while her beloved Hassan is there.

When Subaiha’s son tells Naima that Dalal the dancer is lying about her marriage to Hassan, she believes him and tells her uncle Hajj Ibrahim about the whole thing, whereupon he tells her that Dalal is a liar and reproaches her for having believed her.

Hassan is surprised as Naima escapes from Atwa and comes to his home. Hajj Amin, Metwally and Ibrahim go to Hassan’s, where he tells them that he wouldn’t marry Naima without her family’s approval. Hassan asks Naima to go with her father. Metwally tells Atwa that his and Naima’s wedding is tomorrow.
