The people of Umm al-Nar village wait for a gas tanker for three days. Tawfiq tells them that Al Mukhtar has taken the gas tanker away from him, so they stage a sit-in under Al Mukhtar's house. Hassan asks Al Mukhtar to solve the villagers' problem.

Fouad, Ragab, and Salim quarrel over who will speak on behalf of the villagers. Al Mukhtar gives a moving speech and holds a party to distract the villagers from the gas problem. Fouad leaves the party because of the bad talk about his mother, Salwa.

Salwa asks Dhari to leave the house when her son Fouad arrives. Hoda throws out her husband, Tawfiq, for giving Salwa the gas cylinder. Tawfiq offers the people of Umm Al-Nar village food and accommodation in exchange for money, and Safwan offers them a lower price.

Al Mukhtar asks Khaled to monitor Umm Al-Nour's village, and Fadel and Al Mukhtar ask Dhari to hire a highwayman to steal the gas truck and hide it for two days, after which he will inform the people that Al Mukhtar has managed to arrange the gas and distribute it to them.

Salim goes to Al Mukhtar's house and hears gunfire. He tells his wife, Rodina, that her brother, Al Mukhtar, has died. The lie of Al Mukhtar's death spreads throughout the Umm Al-Nar village. Fadel is shocked and asks Dhari to kill Salim before he can seize Al Mukhtar's seat.

Hawash decides to calm things down with Samira after the news of Al Mukhtar’s death spreads. Fadel is happy when he learns that Al Mukhtar is not dead. Al Mukhtar tells Fadel that he will take revenge on Salim, and Al Mukhtar prepares to go to the village wearing his medals.
