Nazem's father dies amid the great grief of the family and his neighbor Abu Malik (Malik's father), so Nazem is forced to sell sweets on the road even though he is still a child.

Mahmoud takes Nazem to the Mawlid (religious celebration), where he enjoys singing so much that when he grows up and graduates from school, he still sings with his friends.

Fakhri's father becomes angry with his son after he learns that he drinks alcohol with Nazem during their evenings out, while Nazem is hired by Salima Pasha, to the joy of his mother and sister.

Azzawi and Fakhri offer to serve Umm Mary (Mary's mother) in a legal matter, while Nazem goes to the club to sing with Salima.

Rose tells Salima that she knows how much she likes Nazem and warns her not to go too far with her feelings, while Nazem and his friend Fakhri suffer in Baghdad due to the lack of private housing.

Fakhri asks Umm Mary to rent a room to him and Nazem in her big house, and she agrees. She also listens to Nazem singing and her two daughters admire him.

Following Shamil's death, Nazem goes to the village and is surprised that his uncle wants to marry his sister Nuzha to the irresponsible Malik. Nuzha does not love him, but Uncle Mahmoud is adamant about his opinion.

Zanouba tells the fortune-teller Samar that she will marry Nazem, while he grows increasingly attached to Salima, and Fakhri takes a liking to Mary and takes her and her sister to the theater.

Nuzha's marriage to her cousin takes place despite her rejection, while Nazem gets a poet to write lyrics so that he can sing them.

The relationship between Umm Daoud and Nazem strengthens, as she helps him make his way to fame, especially after she intercedes for him to sing on the radio, much to the joy of his mother and sister.

Abu Nizar gets jealous of Nazem and threatens Salima indirectly, so she breaks off her relationship with him and asks him to take all the things he brought her. She also tells him that Nazem is ready to marry her and is not like him, who considers her just his mistress.

Salima quarrels with Abu Nizar and is admitted to the hospital after he beat her. After Nazem finds out about this, he becomes angry and asks her to marry him. Fakhri decides to leave Umm Mary’s house, while Nazem prepares to perform a concert on television.

Nazem is known in the singing community as Nazem Al Ghazali. Politicians began to receive him in their homes to perform at private parties. The wife of one of them even loves him, much to Salima’s intense jealousy.

Nazem agrees with Mr. Hussein Al Rahal and Mr. Jafouri to produce a new song, while Rose returns from traveling and Salima tells her that she doubts Nazem. Sarab meets Nazem and confesses her love for him.

Nazem marries Salima, to the astonishment of his two friends, Fakhri and Azzawi. He also travels to perform at concerts outside Iraq, and when Sarab learns of his marriage, she refuses to travel with him with the delegation.

Nazem visits Lebanon, where he is hosted on a television interview, and everyone in several Arab countries receives him with warmth and hospitality. When Nazem returns to Baghdad, he suffers a heart attack and dies, and the entire Arab world mourns him.
