Because of his violent nature, 19 -year-old Eric is transferred from a juveniles facility to a high security adult prison, where his father is serving a life sentence.

A starred up is when a young offender is transferred to an adult prison due to their extreme violence. Eric, a young inmate is relocated to the same prison where his father is locked up. An already volatile relationship, it's pushed to the limit by the two of them being in the same prison. During this time, Eric is approached by a therapist who invites him to the discussion groups. The discussions lead Eric to review his life and actions.
