After the 1967 defeat, Field Marshal Abdel Hakim Amer is kept under house arrest, and Gamal Abdel Nasser tries to find diplomatic solutions with neighboring countries and mend his relationship with King Faisal. Events take a flashback to the first meeting between Amer and Berlanti Abdul Hamid.
In the past, Nasser tries to deal with the unrest in Syria, and Amer shows an increased interest in Berlanti. While in the present, Amer discovers from the newspapers that Nasser intends to prosecute him.
Berlanti meets Amer at the Indian embassy ceremony, and the situation is still turbulent in Syria after the establishment of the United Arab Republic. The Field Marshal is enraged about Abdel Hamid Al-Sarraj's control in Syria, and Nasser decides to extend the socialist laws there.
Amer decides to escalate his dispute against Al-Sarraj, and a disagreement arises between Nasser and Amer over the handling of the situation in Syria. Amer's daughter confronts her father with the rumors about his marriage to Berlanti.
Berlanti tries to meet Amer several times but to no avail, and he decides to call her back himself. Meanwhile, Nasser calls for the Egyptian forces to leave Yemen.
Amer heads to the Syrian capital, Damascus, to amend the turbulent situation there, and Nasser summons Al-Sarraj to appoint him as Vice President of the Republic, much to Amer's fury.
Amer decides to send a message to Berlanti in secret, and he blames Nasser for appointing Al-Sarraj despite his crimes against the Syrians.
Amer becomes angry at the terrifying number of prisoners at the hands of Al-Sarraj, and he decides to go to the military prison and order the release of all of them. Al-Sarraj returns to Syria immediately. Nasser decides to dissolve Al-Sarraj's office in Syria.
Nasser finds out about a coup plot in the northern region by Abd Al-Karim Al-Nahlawi, and he summons Amer to brief him on the situation in Syria. A number of officers besiege the headquarters in Damascus, prompting Amer to handle the situation.
The situation in Syria deteriorates in the presence of Amer when a military coup is attempted by Syrian army officers against the Egyptian leadership. The problem is solved, and Al-Sarraj is arrested.
Following the defeat, Nasser decides to search for a replacement to take over the affairs of the army after Amer, who decides to resign from the leadership of the army following the secession of Egypt and Syria. Amer's psychological state deteriorates.
Nasser feels disoriented after the secession between Egypt and Syria and decides to set conditions for the continuation of Amer in command of the army after this crisis. Nasser then decides to establish a new Revolutionary Council.
After his disagreement with Nasser, Amer decides to submit his resignation again, prompting Nasser to consider a solution out of this dilemma. Nasser suspects that a plot might have been put to push Amer towards submitting his resignation.
Amer tries to deliver a message to Nasser with his desire for a public trial after the defeat, and Nasser decides to establish the Socialist Union amid objections from a number of members of the Revolutionary Command Council.
Nasser requests reports on the situation in Yemen under the control of Imam Ahmed and decides to intervene militarily there to help the Yemenis and support the revolution. Berlanti considers abandoning acting to please Amer.
A dispute takes place between Nasser and Amer due to the search for a new commander of the armed forces after he joined the Presidential Council. The members of the Council try to solve the crisis of Amer, especially with the forces getting ready to move towards Yemen.
Nasser asks Sadat to investigate the truth of what happened in Yemen by himself, and the Egyptian forces discover the extent of the crimes committed by the Yemeni regime there. Amer is surprised that Nasser sent Sadat.
Amer admits to Salah Nasr his feelings towards Berlanti. The United States recognizes the Yemeni revolution. Amer becomes angry after a number of Egyptian soldiers are targeted in Yemen.
The Egyptian armed forces are victorious in Yemen, and the situation in Iraq turns upside down after the killing of Abd Al-Karim Qasim. Meanwhile, Amer asks Berlanti to marry him.
Amer marries Berlanti in secret and they spend they go on a honeymoon. He reveals to Salah Nasr the secret of this marriage. Meanwhile, Nasser tries to put an end to the problem of separatists in Nigeria.
Nasser is surprised by a new military coup being planned in Syria. The assassination attempt against Lu'ay Al-Atassi is a failure, while in the US, President John F. Kennedy is assassinated.
Nasser's brother, Hussein, decides to propose to the daughter of Amer, who agrees immediately. Nasser tries to stop the funding of Imam Ahmed in Yemen and to confront Israel's transgressions.
Amer's daughter prepares to marry Nasser’s brother. Berlanti asks Amer to separate, but he convinces her to stay with him. Abdel Latif Boghdadi wants to resign, which saddens Nasser.
Heikal travels to the Soviet Union to meet Khrushchev, who is asked to resign. Amer becomes angry that Heikal was asked to travel instead of him.
Israeli forces carry out raids on the Syrian border. Amal reveals to her father that she is pregnant. Nasser asks Amer to make adjustments regarding his office staff.
Nasser's attempts to keep Amer from Berlanti fail, and so do his plans to obtain Arab support for the liberation of Palestine.
The Egyptian forces decide to respond to the Israeli aggression on the Syrian borders and the West Bank in Jordan. Nasser believes that it is necessary to wait for what Israel will do, and the King of Jordan asks to meet President Nasser.
Amer informs Nasser that Berlanti has given birth to a boy. The Egyptian forces are crushed in the 1967 setback, and Nasser is forced to issue an order to withdraw and accept the cease-fire decision. Nasser also decides to step down from his post.
As Amer lives in his village with his men, Nasser asks to meet him and wants him to hand over his officers for trial. When Amer refuses, he is placed under house arrest and his officers are arrested.
The issue of Amer’s marriage with Berlanti is revealed to the authorities, and Nasser finally decides to communicate with Amer after long hesitation. It is decided to transfer Amer to another home, and he dies poisoned.
