Abu Taleb (Taleb's father) is blessed with a third baby daughter whom he calls Wesh Al-Sa'ad. Meanwhile, Majd tells Abu Adnan (Adnan's father) that the French army intends to search the houses of the neighborhood to arrest the revolutionaries.
Abbas postpones his wedding until he avenges his father's murder. Abu Taleb rescues Umm Saber (Saber's mother) from the clutches of Fariz. To take revenge on Abu Taleb, Fariz tells Abbas that Abu Taleb is cooperating with the French troops.
To provoke Abu Taleb, Abbas kidnaps Wesh Al-Sa'ad, but he soon returns her to her family. Simultaneously, a quarrel arises between the French troops on one hand, and Abbas and his men on the other, and Abbas dies.
Abu Taleb suspects that Fariz is Wesh Al-Sa'ad's kidnapper, but Abu Fahmy (Fahmy's father) kills him. Abu Ezzo (Ezzo's father) tells Abu Taleb that his daughter is murdered. Hamza suspects that Wesh Al-Sa'ad is Abbas's daughter, and they change her name to Mal Al-Sham.
Abu Taleb arranges a funeral for Wesh Al-Sa'ad, believing her to be dead. Mal Al-Sham is raised at Umm Abbas's (Abbas's mother) house where her uncle, Hamza, looks after her. Colonel Frantz and his sister come to Damascus for Frantz to start his new job.
Saber insists on avenging his father's death before he gets married. Hamza and his men vow revenge on the French troops as they try to kidnap their ruler. Mal Al-Sham's academic excellence is the only thing that brings joy to Hamza's heart.
Rajy incites colonel Frantz against the people of the neighborhood, especially after they plotted to kidnap the French military ruler. A deadline is put for the people of the neighborhood to turn in the vandals.
Abu Taleb stands by the people of his neighborhood. Hamza tells Abu Aziz and Abu Taleb that he is the perpetrator and asks the people of the neighborhood to stonewall the French troops to buy him time.
Upon Rajy's instigation, the French troops attack the neighborhood, but the people of the neighborhood bravely fight back and refuse to surrender.
When Hamza steps up and decides to turn himself in, the leaders of the neighborhood express their disapproval and try to dissuade him.
After he tries to kill the colonel, Abu Taleb is arrested and he confesses to kidnapping the military ruler.
Now that their father is arrested, Abu Taleb's daughters flee the house. The French troops break the siege of the neighborhood, but they continue to torture Abu Taleb to force him to confess.
Hamza goes all out to get Abu Taleb released. Abu Mar'ie is arrested.
Mariam and her sisters sell their jewelry to buy a weapon. Abu Mar'ie refuses to turn Abu Taleb in. Umm Abbas recuperates.
Umm Abbas passes away and Mal Al-Sham grieves her death. Camellia encourages Mary to cooperate with her and report the vandals.
Umm Hassan (Hassan's mother) tells Hamza that it's not traditionally accepted for Mal Al-Sham to stay at his place since he is a stranger from her after all. Abu Taleb's daughters take a new approach to resist the French colonizer.
Colonel Frantz refuses to release Abu Taleb unless he confesses to the names of those responsible for kidnapping the military ruler. Mariam and Saleha resume their fight against the French troops.
News of two girls fighting the French troops spread, in light of Hamza's efforts with his men to stand up to the colonizer. Camellia, meanwhile, still tries to get Mary to cooperate with her, and the latter refuses.
Mary asks Mariam and Saleha to help her sew the suits for the French soldiers. Hamza refuses to wed Mal Al-Sham. Upon Camellia's wish, Mariam asks Mary to arrange a meeting for Camellia with Abu Taleb's family.
Mariam visits her father, and she still refuses to cooperate with colonel Frantz. The decision to have Abul Taleb's family watched is reversed.
Hamza rejects Umm Hassan's proposal that he marry Mal Al-Sham, because to him, she is akin to a nephew. Abu Taleb is sentenced to life imprisonment, and Hamza tirelessly tries to smuggle him out of prison.
A financial reward is put for anyone who manages to find Abu Taleb's daughters. Meanwhile, Hamza's men attack the castle.
Colonel Frantz grows fond of Mariam's intellect and culture, but that doesn't save her father from being tortured by the scourges of the colonizer.
Mariam advises colonel Frantz to get well-versed about the Levant, its culture, heritage, and civilization. Meanwhile, Obaid is tortured to death.
Mariam and her sister try to kidnap colonel Michel, as Mariam loses her necklace at the ruler's house. Mal Al-Sham senses that her uncle Hamza has changed with her. Fajiya, meanwhile, supplies Camellia with information about the vandals.
Frantz learns that Mariam and Saleha are the two female fighters, but he refuses to have Mariam arrested. Mal Al-Sham accepts to marry.
Hamza gets upset when he learns that Mal Al-Sham intends to marry. Mal Al-Sham, meanwhile, takes up sewing and crosses paths with Mariam and Saleha.
Hamza's men clash with the French troops and many people die, including Saber. The authorities suggest to negotiate, and the rebels try to have Abu Taleb and the other fighters released. Frantz retries Abu Taleb and gets closer to Mariam.
Mariam organizes demonstrations to have her father released, and the French troops lose all control.
Colonel Frantz encourages Mariam not to give up and to carry on fighting for justice and freedom. The authorities eventually succumb to people's wishes and a retrial for Abu Taleb and the rebels is called for.
