Lotfi tells his two friends in the army, Saber and Swailem, that they're going home. Saber remembers his love for his wife Hayat, and the land that he cultivated and feared for. When he returns after 7 years of war, he meets Owais, who offers to buy his land, but Saber refuses.
Saber discovers Owais' plan to flood his land with salt water, until its ruined and he is forced to sell it, but Saber tells his father that he will work to make the land ready for cultivation again. Owais is upset and offers to buy it for a large sum, but Saber refuses.
Fattouh rages at his parents when he learns the price that Owais offered Saber to buy the land, while Owais incites him to forge a general power of attorney to sell his share in Saber's land, which he was able to restore to the way it was. Fattouh learns that Owais deceived him.
As Fattouh dies in a car crash, Saber suspects that it wasn't an accident, and an investigation is opened, where he discovers that his brother has sold half of the land under a forged power of attorney. Saber finds himself torn between completing the sale or returning the money to Owais.
Lotfi agrees with Saber to file several lawsuits against Owais, who deceives the townsfolk by setting up a large hotel project that serves them all so that they turn against Saber, and plots to frame Saber for murder after the governor ordered the return of the land to its owner.
As the investigation continues into the murder, of which Saber's accused, Awadeen gets charged. The lawyer Lotfi suggests releasing Awadeen in order to deceive everyone, while the townsfolk try to raise the issue by spreading rumors that Saber's wife and Lotfi are having an affair.
As Lotfi tells Owais that Awadeen has confessed to everything, everyone is surprised when Awadeen drowns in the canal, and Lotfi is taken to the hospital in a critical condition. Owais threatens Hayat to sell the land after the case is transferred to another investigator.
Hayat refuses the gift/bribe that Owais sent her while her husband's in prison, in order to put pressure on her, and is surprised by her father's request to the prison administration to divorce her from Saber without her knowing, upon the advice of Owais.
Hayat's father beats his daughter to prevent her from not asking for a divorce. Saber has a mental breakdown and is transferred to a mental hospital when he learns that Hayat asked for a divorce. Owais forces Saber's father to sell the land.
Saber's father dies from grief. Owais begins plotting to get close to Hayat, and Saber contemplates escaping from the mental hospital after feigning madness.
The nurse, Awatef, agrees with Owais to smuggle Hayat from the hospital, and to take her to Alexandria to get rid of Saber.
Owais plans with his driver to get rid of Saber inside the hospital, but a big fire breaks out through which Saber manages to escape, and everyone thinks that he has died in the fire.
When Hayat loses her son in Alexandria and keeps looking for him, Owais finds him, takes him to his house to look after him.
Hayat discovers Awatef's cooperation with Owais. Saber goes to his war comrade Swailem and tells him his story. After Swailem dies, Saber looks after his son and his business. Owais takes care of Hayat's son in an attempt to get to her.
Hayat launches her new dressmaking project, while Saber decides to leave the village after the people suspect him. He meets Warrant Officer Adam on the train, and when he tries to save him from a thief, Adam dies and Saber falls from the train. The farm owner Rabie takes him to the hospital.
Hayat tries to escape, but Owais stops her. When Awatef professes Owais her feelings for him, he asks her to stay away and stop working with him. Meanwhile, Saber escapes from the hospital after the police begin investigating his injury.
Hayat's circumstances change with Awatef's help. Owais deceives Hayat by telling her he wants her to marry anyone in order to make sure she's okay, stating his regret for what he did to her and Saber.
Owais gains Hayat's trust, and promises her to restore everything to the way it was before, while Awatef is jealous of this transformation between them. Saber works in Rabie's agricultural land after regaining his health.
Owais decides to get rid of Awatef and asks someone to kill her, while he takes Hayat and her son to his villa. When Awatef discovers his plot, she tells Hayat about all his schemes to get rid of Saber.
As Hayat threatens to expose Owais and tries to escape, she gets hit by a car, loses her memory, then gets picked up by some Bedouins, with whom she stays. Awatef dies. Ten years later, Yahya becomes a prosecutor, and Wedad gets a job at some company.
Yahya investigates the old case of Saber and Owais. Wedad takes over her job at Owais' farm under the supervision of Eid, Hayat's son, who wants to propose to her.
Saber is shocked when he meets his son Eid after many years, while Rabie tries to find out the truth. Yahya is upset with Wedad's wish to marry Eid.
Owais proposes to Eid to get close to Yahya so that they can throw the police off. Saber tells Rabie his story and meets Hayat, who's living among the Bedouins, and tries to take her with him.
Saber tells Rabie and the Bedouin sheikh that Hayat is his wife, revealing that he is Saber Abu El Majd the fugitive, so Rabie decides to help him. Yahya tells him that he'll leave the house after his wife Hayat's return to him, and after Wedad's insistence to be with Eid.
Saber meets with Mortada, who confirms his suspicion that Owais caused Hayat to lose her memory. Hayat falls into a well and suffers a severe head injury, after which she is taken to the hospital.
Wedad tells Owais about Hayat and that she is staying in their house. Yahya discovers that Swailem is Eid's father and decides to help him, and he summons the mayor of the town to open an investigation into the old murder of the watchman Awadeen.
Mortada decides to publish Hayat's photo in the paper to entrap Owais. As the police arrest Eid and Owais, the latter is taken to the hospital, where he learns that he has AIDS and dies. Yahya, Wedad and Fatima get married.
