As Khedive Isma'il goes through a severe health crisis, his mother, Walida Pasha, decides to install Tewfik as Crown Prince, despite Hussein Kamel's being the rightful heir to the throne. Bishri decides to plot against Walida Pasha, while everyone is looking for the missing son of the Khedive.

A number of the palace's men try to prepare Hussein Kamel to be the next Khedive of Egypt. Walida Pasha gets poisoned. Shams Qadin becomes trapped in a ship leaving Egypt for the Sublime Porte. Walida Pasha tries to keep Hussein Kamel away from the palace.

The khedive awakens from his coma as the palace prepares for the crown prince's inauguration. The death sentence of Ismail Siddiq (Ismail Al Mufatish) is carried out, and it turns out that it was a trick to mislead Walida Pasha. Hussein Kamel tries to commit suicide, but Isma'il affirms his support of him.

The inauguration ceremony of the crown prince begins in the palace with the sultan of the Ottoman Empire present. Shams Qadin faints while dancing with the sultan. Nafisa becomes pregnant after being raped. Princess Eugénie is distressed by her husband's unjust treatment. Jeshm miscarries.

The khedive asks Shams to return to the sultan. When Jeshm awakes, the khedive asks her to raise Hassan instead of her fetus which she didn't miscarry. He also threatens to expel Ferial from the palace if she doesn't turn Eugénie in. Bishri decides to take advantage of Walida Pasha's senility.

As Walida Pasha is relieved from the spell that was cast on her, she punishes the perpetrator. The khedive discovers that his mother plotted to kill Shams with the sultan. A passerby finds Shams in a deep well. Safinaz tries to hide the news, but Isma'il prevents this.

Six years have passed since the last events, and all members of the khedive's family gather for a commemorative photo. Walida Pasha asks Prince Tewfik to meet Emina, the daughter of Ilhami Pasha, to bring them closer. The young princesses get poisoned because of the wine that Shams drinks.

Prince Tewfik feels attracted to one of the palace’s maids. The khedive decides to arrange the marriage of Princess Tawhida to Prince Toussoun. Walida Pasha disciplines Shams. Prince Rashid courts Emina instead of Tewfik, who gets rebuked for that.

The khedive orders that Prince Rashid be sent to Vienna to study in order to keep him away from Emina, while Walida Pasha decides to lure the girl Tewfik loves and keep her away from him. Hussein Kamel becomes fed up with his life in secret.

Walida Pasha tries to find fault with Sur khanem's doings. As Nadia is found suffering from a nervous breakdown, she tells Tewfik that she spent last night with the khedive. Hussein Kamel demands that his father recognize him.

Walida Pasha plots against Hussein Kamel and Ismail Al Mufatish in the absence of the khedive. She also asks Jeshm to commit suicide to avert her scandal. The khedive spends time with Eugénie, which makes Ferial jealous. Safinaz poisons Bishri. Shams Qadin is buried alive.
