Based on a true story, Dido Elizabeth Belle (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) is the ethnically mixed daughter of a Royal Navy Captain, raised by her uncle Lord Mansfield and his wife. She falls in love with a vicar's son, which causes many troubles, especially with the rise of the movement to end slavery in Britain.
