After Ahlam comes out of the orphanage and meets El Maroufy, a friend of her deceased parents, she learns that Nasser caused the death of her parents, so she decides to take revenge.

Ali meets Laila at the town's port. Ahlam recalls witnessing her parents' murder.

Mona starts working for a girl in the harbor. Ahlam tells El Maroufy that she wants to take revenge on Nasser.

Nasser throws a party on the occasion of his daughter's birthday, and Ahlam attends it with El Maroufy. Nasser likes Mona and offers to help her.

Nasser's daughter rejects her father's attempts to get her married. Amina succeeds at college and becomes a lawyer. Mona receives a bouquet of flowers from an unknown person.

Laila meets Ali and asks to marry him. El Maroufy finds something important about Ahlam's case.

Ahlam meets a journalist friend of El Maroufy's and tells him her story. Nasser continues to send flowers to Mona without her knowing his identity.

The building's tenants hold a vigil against the mayor to prevent him from demolishing the building. Ahlam is taken to the police station after she quarrels with the mayor, after which she is released.

Ahlam patches things up with the journalist, who congratulates her on her courageous stance against the mayor, while Mona sings at a big party attended by Nasser.

Ahlam stands against Nasser to prevent him from displacing the families. Kamal and Jamal continue to search for the young African man.

Officer Jamal meets Abdul Razzaq at the harbor and asks him about the African man. Ahlam asks the mayor to pardon her, and they agree to settle the lawsuit of the building in court.

Nasser promises Mona that the building case will be ruled in their favour, while the relationship between Ahlam and journalist Youssef strengthens.

Nasser insists on selling the building. Jamal goes to Abdul Razzaq, hoping to reach the African man.

Laila discovers the truth behind Ali and that he lied to her. Mona's father falls ill. Jamal falls in love with the lawyer Amina.

With the help of Youssef, Ahlam tries to stand up to the attempt to evict the residents. Mona's father undergoes surgery, and his wife quarrels with Mona because she works as a singer.

Mona's father recovers. Abdul Salam is beaten by unknown persons. Youssef is fired from the newspaper, and Laila is traumatized.

As someone breaks into Ahlam's apartment, Jamal investigates the matter. Laila is reconciled with Ali.

Laila spends her time with Ali away from the city. Jamal interrogates a criminal at the harbor.

Laila calls her mother and tells her where she is. Ahlam quarrels with her father's friend as she accuses him of taking bribes.

Nasser discovers that his wife is secretly meeting Laila. Hassan tries to kidnap Laila, but she manages to escape from him, while Mona and Amina meet the African young man.

One of Nasser's men detains Laila. El Maroufy gives the mayor important documents related to the building. Mona agrees to marry Nasser.

Jamal makes up with Amina. Nasser tries to find a loophole before the day of the hearing, but the lawyer informs him of the difficulty of the situation. Ahlam feels happy about her victory over Nasser.

Nasser loses his land to the state. Ahlam and Amina thank the mayor for his cooperation. One of the gangsters kidnaps Laila and detains her.

After recovering from the coma, Ali searches for Laila, whom Nasser sends a doctor to terminate her pregnancy. Nasser asks the mafia boss to give him time to get the money.

Youssef is arrested after Hassan's murder and Kamal interrogates him. Ali returns to his home and his sister helps him.

Ahlam tries to reconcile Amina and Jamal, while Laila's mother confesses to her friend that Laila is his daughter, not Nasser's.

When Laila asks Nasser to release her, he stipulates that she has an abortion. Olwan, the mayor, refuses to be blackmailed by Nasser.

The doctor tells Nasser that it is impossible for Laila to have an abortion. After Youssef is released, he searches with El Maroufy and Ahlam for Hassan's killer.

Mona plans to stay away from Nasser and continue her singing career. Laila's mother succeeds in freeing her daughter.

Mona returns to work with the band. Kamal and Jamal arrest the criminals in the harbor. Ahlam feels very sad when she visits her parents' graves.
