Abu Salem gives his son two choices: marry another woman as his wife Rabaa is barren, or leave the village with her. Sarbah fights over Najma with Azzam, who later disappears. Thinking that he died, Sarhah asks his uncle Hamid for his daughter Najma’s hand in marriage, but he refuses and scolds him.

Najma thinks that Azzam was killed by Sarbah, who, at night, tries to kill his uncle Hamid, after which Najma finds his ring in the desert where Azzam disappeared, and he hires bandits to steal Marzouk’s sheep.

The midwife tells Rabaa that she’s pregnant. Someone rescues Marzouk, whereupon the latter tells Salem that whoever attacked him is from Sheikh Hamid’s tribe. Sarbah tells Najma that he wants to marry her, but she refuses.

Hamid meets Sheikh Sanhoud, and tells him that they did not steal their sheep. Hamid suspects that Sarbah did it, and Marzouk exposes him, so the sheikh orders that he be flogged, like he did with Marzouk, and return the sheep to him. Sheikh Hamid suggests that his daughter marry Abu Ayed’s son.

Najma, obliged, agrees to marry Ayed. Rabaa gives birth to her first child, Saqr, who falls seriously ill, whereupon Salem has to travel to the Hejaz region to bring healing herbs.

Sarbah flees to the mountain and lives there. The village is exposed to heavy rainfall that destroys all the farms, resulting in a famine. Years pass and Saqr grows up, becoming a young man.

Najma recalls when she took Saqr as a child and went out to the mountain, where she was chased by Sarbah, and lost the child, who was taken in by someone. Salem's father dies. Years pass and Salem has another child with Rabaa, whom they call Oqab.

Oqab falls for Dalal, whom he marries. Salem keeps remembering his son Saqr, and thinks of looking for Sarbah, who might have information about him.

Oqab meets Gharib, who he doesn’t is his brother. As Sarbah returns, he’s met by Salem's daughter, Shawq, unaware that she is his daughter, while she treats him well and gives him food.

As Gharib leaves with his mother, Rabaa hosts them. She tells Gharib’s mother the story of her son Saqr, after which she discovers that Gharib is her son, whom she lost when he was young. Sarbah continues to roam the desert aimlessly.
