As Essam suffers from nightmares about the murder of his father in his childhood, he decides to search for the killer. Hiam quarrels with her father because he refuses that they travel to Egypt after she meets up with Farid and texts him.
Essam gets into a car accident, which worries his uncle, who insists that Laila marry and forget about Essam. Essam loses his paintings after he presents them to the editor-in-chief of a newspaper. Hiam's father rebukes her for texting Essam.
Hiam's father dies after the police unjustly arrest him on charges of killing Nazmi. After Hiam returns to Egypt, she admires Essam's art and offers that he partner up with her on her new project, so he accepts and grows fond of her.
Farid tries to spoil Essam's relationship with Hiam, by virtue of the latter's rejection to marry him, and he colludes with Laila against them. Hiam confesses her feelings to Essam.
Essam's uncle is shocked after he discovers the identity of Hiam's father. Following Essam's engagement to Hiam, Laila informs him that Hiam's father is the one who has killed his father; as a result, Essam evades meeting Hiam while he struggles with his feelings towards her.
Laila denies what she has said to Essam, and she marvels that he has changed with her. Essam deludes Laila into thinking that she is mentally ill, so she resorts to a doctor and tells him about her fear of Essam. Hiam disappears and the police investigate the matter.
The doctor treats Essam from the trauma he has got on discovering that his father is a criminal just like Ibrahim. It is revealed that the doctor has agreed with Hiam to treat Essam during her absence. After Hiam returns, she refuses to get back to Essam because of her father’s crime.
