After a night of debauchery and drugs, Nasir "Naz" Khan wakes up to find his bedmate murdered. When he is accused of the murder, defense lawyer John Stone tries to help him.

Stone counsels Naz to keep his mouth shut. Detective Box tries to get to the bottom of what happened on the night of the murder. Naz awaits his trial.

Financial difficulties force Naz's father to consider a terrible option. Stone drops Naz's case when the family is unable to afford his fees. Naz runs into trouble in prison.

When he keeps running into trouble with the inmates, Naz is forced to finally accept Freddy's offer of protection. Stone learns more about Andrea's past. Naz's case changes hands between lawyers once more.

As the prosecutor finds more incriminating evidence against Naz, Stone identifies a possible new suspect. Naz's alliance with Freddy pulls him deeper into the prison underworld.

AS Det. Box delves deeper into Naz's past, Chandra finds a new witness and Stone investigates Andrea's familial relationship.

As the trial begins, both the defense and the prosecution dispute the other side's version of events. Stone manages to shed light on some questionable actions on Box's side.

Naz's fate hangs in the balance after he takes the stand with disastrous results. Box pinpoints a new viable suspect and clashes with Weiss over the proper course of action.
