In the city of Damietta, everyone is preparing to attend the wedding of two relatives; Khalid, the son of Hajj No'aman, and Fawzia, the daughter of Mahrous, who clearly disapproves of the match. It is also known that Khalid has schizophrenia.

During the wedding, unidentified people storm Hajj No'aman's warehouse and steal a shipment of wood. Fawzia refuses to let Khalid approach her all night long.

After the investigation about the warehouse robbery, it's revealed that Nadia's husband is the robber. Fawzia is trying to adapt to her new life with Khalid.

Mahrous asks No'aman to lend him money to open up a store, but the latter refuses. Khalid's sisters take advantage of Fawzia's nervousness around Khalid to ruin their marriage.

Khalid's barren sister holds a religious trance ceremony in the hopes of getting pregnant and Khalid thinks that those present are plotting against him as they beat him.

Fawzia gives her father her jewelry to get the money to open up a store without the knowledge of Hajj No'aman. The doctor tries to give Khalid alternative treatment.

Mahrous opens up a new store and Hajj No'aman wonders where Mahrous got the money. Samir admits to his uncle that Kassem stole the wood warehouse.

Fawzia admits to No'aman that she gave the gold to her father. Nadia pleads with No'aman to drop the case.

Kassem is released from prison. The relationship between Fawzia and Khalid gets stronger, which raises the concerns of Najia and her daughters that the couple might have an heir.

Reda learns that it was Shawkia's plot to have Fawzia accused of theft. Mona tells her father what Reda told her, and he confronts his wife with his knowledge of her ugly past and her mistreatment of both his co-wife and his son Khalid.

Fawzia agrees to return home only if Najia apologizes for accusing her. Fawzia tells Hajj No'aman that she's pregnant.

No'aman's daughters feel threatened after learning about Fawzia's pregnancy. Fawzia admits to her brother's wife that she's not pregnant. Rakia throws Fawzia down the stairs.

Fawzia has a spinal fracture and will not be able to walk again. Mahrous asks No'aman for 3 million pounds in compensation for his daughter's paralysis.

No'aman gives Fawzia money as compensation for her injury. No'aman decides to put Khalid in a mental hospital.

Fawzia buys a new house for her family and the two brothers plan to get the rest of the money. Khalid's condition is improving.

Fawzia's former sweetheart, Saied, asks her to marry him and her father feigns approval. Mahrous and his sons plant drugs for Saied to have him arrested. Khalid returns home.

Samir is considering marrying No'aman's daughter, Mona, despite the social and educational differences. Mona tells Fawzia that Khalid wants to take her back as his wife, but she throws her out.

Fawzia agrees to finance the factory provided that it will be in her name. No'aman announces Khalid's marriage to Radia.

Najia, her daughters, and their husbands are angry about Khalid and Radia's marriage. Radia tries to obtain Khalid's trust.

Samir doesn't accept Mona's rejection and goes too far as to try to rape her. He also blackmails her, and she hits him severely.

Mona reports Samir for harassing her and she confesses her feelings to her university professor, Bahgat. Fawzia lets Nadia run the factory. Khalid begins helping his father run his business.

Radia is pregnant and No'aman asks her to keep it a secret. Fawzia visits Saied in jail and he tells her the truth about his imprisonment.

No'aman insists on making Nasser divorce So'aad. Nasser threatens Fakhry that he will reveal everything to No'aman. Rakia learns of Radia's pregnancy. Fakhry tries to win Khaled over.

Fawzia turns her father and brothers in, and the police take them out of the factory. Mahrous incites an employee to spoil the goods and cause the factory to close. Kassem divorces Nadia.

Khalid's condition deteriorates again. Fawzia agrees to let her father run the factory again. Mona and Bahgat get engaged.

Rakia tries to get rid of Radia's unborn child, and Radia indeed falls off the stairs, but she and the baby miraculously survive. Rakia plots to have Khaled suspect that Radia is cheating on him.

Khalid's condition gets worse and he doubts Radia and tries to kill her.

Radia escapes from the house and gives birth. No'aman is looking for Radia everywhere.

Radia tries to rent a room for her and her baby. No'aman has a heart attack. Samir and Kassem are planning to set fire to No'aman's house.

The family survives the fire after No'aman's house gets burned. Samir frames Khalid of burning the house. Mahrous tells his sons not to ask him for money in exchange for not revealing their secret and controlling the money alone. Khalid ends up in a mental hospital and dies burning.
