As unrest sweeps the streets of Pakistan, a State Department official, Alex Talbott, and his driver are caught in the protests. As the US government decides on a way to deal with the turmoil in Pakistan, they are forced to rely on Alex for information.

As fears mount that a military strike will only escalate the situation, Alex finds himself in a dangerous position when Zaman's men locate him. A mishap involving a drug-addled pilot threatens to spark an international crisis.

Alex lands in a situation that offers him a chance to use the rivalry between Zaman and his half-brother to his advantage, but the risk is too great since any mistake could cost him his life.

Walter's life hangs in the balance, putting Alex in a perilous position since the success of his negotiations with Raja depends on Walter. While on a new mission, Zeke reevaluates his choices and ponders his future.

Grounded at a tribal region, Zeke and Glenn find themselves in trouble. Walter enlists the help of the Israeli foreign minister to resolve the situation.

A hostage situation puts Zeke and Glenn's lives on the line. Walter's trip to Tel Aviv culminates in him finding Joanne.

In an attempt to find Raja, Walter pretends to have a medical emergency so that he could force a landing in Switzerland. Things grow dire for Zeke and Glenn as the danger they are in escalates.

With WWIII threatening to break out, it falls to Walter to try and deescalate the situation. The embassy's evacuation leaves Alex and Rafiq scrambling to come up with a new plan.

Alex and Rafiq end up in trouble when they are taken hostage. Walter devises a plan that includes turning one of Zaman's own men against him.

With a nuclear threat hanging over Tel Aviv, Alex must rely on his wits to convince Zaman to stop the plane carrying the nuclear weapons. Walter faces an ardent task of talking down the world leaders to prevent a crisis that could sweep over the entire world.
