Before she is killed, a woman hides handwritten papers inside the cover of a book called 'Hidden Worlds'. Eight years later, in 2018, the anti-government journalist Hilal buys the book and goes home where his grandson Zizo lives.

Hilal finds out that the book is actually the diaries of the actress Maryam Riad. He goes to see the author of the book, Nabil, who tells him that the novel was for a project that they were planning together but they couldn't find a producer. Hilal suspects that Maryam's death was not a suicide.

Hilal reads the diaries and discovers that Maryam was married to someone who caused the death of 300 people when he smuggled a shipment of contaminated insulin into the country. She was impregnated by him before they had a divorce.

Hilal finds out that Saed Ghanem is the person who was scapegoated and imprisoned in the case. Hilal goes to see Saed's wife who tells him that two men left her suitcases full of money just before Saed was arrested.

After taking Tawfik's address from Saed, Hilal goes to see him in the hospital and he discovers that the one responsible for smuggling the bad drugs into the country works for the Ministry of Health.

Hilal goes to see the new Minister of Health to tell him about the information he discovered, but he finds out that he was Maryam's husband.

Hilal finds the key to Maryam's apartment in the book's cover. He finds evidence behind a painting. Ghada comes to pick her son Zizo but he refuses to go with her. Hilal presents evidence that proves Saed's innocence, and Yousri and Fathi are arrested.

Hilal reads about producers and directors who had gay relationships, which caused an actor to commit suicide. Ziad bothers Noha and she remembers that he caused her miscarriage when he hit her.

As Hilal reads about the film that stopped shooting in 2000, he tries to find the producer but isn't able to.

Hilal goes to Maryam's apartment and finds another piece of evidence that proves that the producer of the film is Shehab, the presidential candidate. He writes an article to expose him, but Draz changes it. Hilal goes to Shehab's villa to talk with him and Bahaa and records the conversation.

Hilal discovers that Maryam had a child named Nourhan whom she put in a foster home so that her ex-husband Yehia wouldn't find her. By the time she went to retrieve her, Nourhan had escaped. Ghada tries to videotape her husband as he takes a bribe from Safwat.

Hilal goes to the foster home but the director has no information about Nourhan. Emad and Noha go to the foster home to uncover the violations taking place there.

Hilal goes to the psychiatrist Mostafa Mahran who tells him that Maryam's mother told her that her daughter died and put the baby in a foster home. Maryam was forced to take any available role to provide for her sick mother.

Hilal finds out that the foster home's director gives children to a beggar who uses them. Hilal reports him to the police and they find the kidnapped children.

Hilal learns that Maryam made a movie and saw the director exchange a bag of money for a bag full of drugs. Ghada remembers how her mother died when her father, Hilal, couldn't afford to pay for her liver transplant surgery.

In the diaries, Hilal reads that the producer was able to leave the airport without the drugs being detected. After that, Maryam decided not to do the film. Mohab calls Nourhan to return the drugs that she took.

Nourhan and Hilal find the address of another apartment that Maryam had, where they find an old camera tape and a trophy that Nourhan broke when she was a child.

While Nourhan is able to identify Talaat and Mohab from the videotape, that is not sufficient evidence. Hilal finds Mohab threatening Nourhan with a gun to get the tape.

Hilal finds out that there is someone from the Ministry of Education who forges certificates, and that he forged certificates for Maryam and his own wife, the dancer Nariman.

When Hilal catches Menna stealing from her father's safe, she tells him that she's being blackmailed because of the videos. When Jamal arrives, he thinks that Hilal is the one who is stealing from him.

Hilal finds the Kamal's real graduation certificate inside Nourhan's trophy, which causes Kamal to be arrested and removed from office. It's revealed that Rania is the one who has been threatening Menna and Essam. Emad confesses his love for Noha.

In the diaries, Hilal reads that Maryam retired from acting and got close to a Sheikh who was involved in organs trafficking. Maryam suspected the truth after a group of youth was kidnapped and rumors of a terrorist group kidnapping them spread.

Hilal goes with officer Raouf to reconcile him with his wife, Sabreen. Hilal learns of the death of the presenter Nahid Fouad who was going to lead them to the location of the Sheikh.

When Hilal and Raouf meet the brother of one of the young men who was killed in the accident, he tells them that the bodies had no organs. They also meet the accident's sole survivor, Atef.

When Al-Sayed Nouh kidnaps Hilal's grandson Ezz, the police manage to locate the terrorists and arrest Nouh.

Hilal receives an envelope that is titled: Maryam's killer. The letter contains information that Maryam's friend was the second wife of a corrupt minister who killed her. Hilal starts searching for this minister.

Noha discovers an article about Ibtisam Fahmy's death in an accident that left her husband, Minister Bassiouni, in a state of shock. Hilal locates Ibtisam's ex-husband who tells him that he was forced to divorce her after he was framed for a crime he didn't commit.

Mostafa Mahran tells Hilal that he is the one who sent him the rest of the diaries and that Maryam told Al-Helbawi that she was planning to publish the diaries but he betrayed her. She also told Mahran that he should publish her diaries if anything happened to her but he couldn't.

As Ibrahim recovers the files that prove the corruption happening in steel companies, Hilal takes them to the Prime Minister. Ezz wakes up from his coma and Hilal visits him at the hospital where he finds a note that says that Maryam wants to see him.

Hilal meets Sherif Yousry who appears to be responsible for all the corruption and murders. He tells Hilal that Maryam was killed because of all the secrets that she knew. As Yousry prepares to kill Hilal, the police raid the place.
