Na'ima works the fields and takes care of the animals, but her uncle wants her to sell her land. When she refuses, the two quarrel, and her uncle threatens her. Hassan lives in the city with his wife and children, caring nothing for the land.

Na'ima's uncle tries to come up with a way to sell the land, especially in light of Hassan's apathy. Hassan takes his neighbor to the hospital. Hassan's daughter is involved with her classmate, while her sister works at a factory with a friend who is trying to get her to go out with boys.

Abdullah, who likes Na'ima, informs her that Sa'eid devised a plan to marry her off to Ali so that they could seize her land. Na'ima tells her uncle Mostafa that she won't wed Ali or sell the land. Doga quarrels with her daughter who came home late.

Mostafa informs his mother that Sa'eid wants to buy the land and tries to convince her to agree, but she refuses. As the mother passes out at the field, Na'ima comes to her aid. Khadija is preoccupied with her children and her friend.

Ali visits his grandmother and Na'ima at the field. Sa'eid's hypertension makes him ill. Na'ima enlists her cousin's help to prevent her uncle from buying the land.

Ali threatens to use force to wed Khadija forcibly. When Hassan visits his mother in the countryside, he meets Sa'eid and informs him that he refuses to sell the land. Hassan tries to beat his daughter when he discovers that she is involved with someone.

Ali burns down the fields, which upsets Khadija who tries to put down the fire and save the animals. Ali tries to rape Khadija but she resists him. The sweetheart of Hassan's younger daughter quarrels with his classmate for her, which leads to him being kicked out of school.

Hanan asks Mahmoud to wed her, but he stalls her. As Khadija leaves the office, her manager tries to get her back after things go downhill at the office. Ali sabotages Na'ima's land until she reports him to the police. But her uncle Mostafa gets in her way and threatens her.

As the grandmother passes away, Reda arrives to offer his condolences. The brothers quarrel at the funeral over Sa'eid's wish to sell the land. Suhail is saddened by the grandmother's death. Ali and Abdullah quarrel at the cafe. Mahmoud is shocked when Hanan tells him that she is pregnant.

As Sa'eid and his son search for the land deeds, Na'ima threatens them with a gun. Hassan becomes preoccupied with his family as his youngest daughter goes to study with her boyfriend. As Sa'eid threatens Na'ima, Abdullah advises her to get away from the field for a while until Reda returns.

Sa'eid meets Hassan in the capital and informs him that Na'ima wants to seize the land for herself. As Hanan miscarries, Mahmoud treats her badly as she returns to work at the factory.

Hassan is imprisoned on charges of theft, while the real thieves continue working, but Mohsen overhears them talking about the robbery. Hanan quarrels with her sweetheart. Na'ima reports Ali to the police for threatening her.

Hanan quarrels with Mahmoud and causes a scene in the factory in front of the workers, telling them that he is a thief and a fraud. As she quits her job, she returns to live with her friends. Na'ima leaves the field, bids Suhail farewell, and travels.

As Na'ima passes her exams and returns to the field, where she meets Suhail. Hanan tells her friends that she wants to apologize to her former sweetheart. Sa'eid continues looking for the land deeds so that he could seize it.

As Ali passes away after his own father's car runs him over, Sa'eid goes mad. The Hajja distributes the grandmother's will to her children and her grandchildren. Hanan meets her sweetheart and asks him for forgiveness. Na'ima and Hassan's daughter pass their exams.
