Samir is a young man who is the mayor of the Ain Al-Haq municipality. He is professionally successful, and he has a loving family and a supportive wife. He holds a meeting for the townspeople to discuss how to make use of the springs.
The doctor advises Nagia, whose father is a drunkard, to check on him regularly without giving him money which he'll probably spend on alcohol. In an interview, Samir mentions setting up a spa for health-care purposes. Later that day, Samir's brother and his family visit him to have dinner.
As Horiya looks for a job to provide for herself and her baby, Nagia gives her money and food. An employee at the construction site is found dead, and his brother reports his death to the police. Samir's niece tells her friend that her family life is miserable.
Horiya works in Samir's house. Samir meets representatives of different areas to discuss his project. Nagia is devastated that her alcoholic father, who's rarely ever sober, is willing to wed her to a friend of his to pay off his debts.
Disagreements surface as Samir gets into a dispute with a shareholder. Samir's wife is relieved to find the ring with Horiya's baby. Nagia borrows money for her indebted father, unaware that he plans to wed her to his friend.
The Hajja heads to Nagia's house to give money to the latter's father to prevent him from sacrificing his daughter. Horiya recounts to Samir's wife what she went through, and she looks for the spring to cure her son. The Hajja's son meets Samir to further discuss the project with him.
Samir communicates to his brother Isma'il that he needs to inspect the water before he proceeds with the project. Nagia's relationship with the Hajja's son strengthens and he wants to draw a portrait of her. Samir accuses Horiya of robbing him and kicks her and her baby out.
Nagia grows infatuated with the Hajja's son, and the feelings are mutual. The Hajja quarrels with her son who's against giving the land away in commemoration of her late husband. Samir's wife suspects him when she sees a woman's picture on his phone.
Ismai'l supports his daughter to nourish her talent. Horiya takes her son to the spring, hoping the water will cure him, but he gets feverish instead. Isma'il's daughter gets mad at him and leaves for her uncle Samir's house. The Hajja grows suspicious about her son's relationship with Horiya.
Horiya rushes to Isma'il's house so that he could examine her feverish son. Samir meets with a woman, and over lunch, they discuss the project he dreams of. As Horiya's son recovers, she moves to Isma'il's house. It becomes evident that the water of the spring is contaminated.
Isma'il informs his brother that the water of the spring is polluted and poisonous, but Samir turns a deaf ear and proceeds with his project. Helpless, Isma'il tries to get Khalil to publish an article. Ahmed, the Hajja's son, develops a drinking habit, and Nagia feels sorry for him.
Isma'il meets with the Hajja who tells him her son keeps asking about his real father, and that he has become an alcoholic. She gets mad at Nagia who frequents her son's room. Isma'il agrees with his daughter and Khalil to make it known that the water is contaminated.
Samir's wife meets Akram and they work towards an agreement. The Hajja's son prevents her from throwing away his late father's belongings. Nora meets her husband to convince him to collaborate with Akram, but he refuses. Other cases make Isma'il sure that the water of the spring is polluted.
Samir and Isma'il quarrel, and the latter threatens to report his brother to the police. Ahmed achingly waits to learn who his father is. Samir halts the press conference. Nagia searches for Ahmed at her father's house and pays her father to find him.
A woman who claims to have been cured by the water from the spring accuses Isma'il of misleading the public and falsely claiming that the water is polluted. However, Isma'il holds a press conference to reveal the truth. Ahmed quarrels with his mother to get her to reveal who his father is.
Samir holds a conference to argue that the spring provides good drinking water, and Isma'il fails to provide evidence against Samir's claims. When the Hajja kicks Nagia out, an infuriated Ahmed leaves the house. He tries to contact Nagia but she cuts all ties.
Seeing how melancholic her son Ahmed has become, the Hajja begs Nagia to return. Nagia's father threatens to tell Ahmed the truth if the Hajja doesn't keep away from them. The municipal council refuses to accredit the spa project.
The Hajja gives Nagia's father money to buy his silence. Akram asks Samir for a favor. Isma'il tries too cure Horiya's son, and Samir wants to take them home. Ahmed rejoices when Nagia returns to the Hajja's house.
The doctor comes to see Ahmed, but he refuses treatment and asks his mother for his share in the inheritance, while Nagia tries to help him get back on his feer. Isma'il's house is attacked and he calls his brother Samir.
Samir goes to Isma'il's and bargains with him to urge the people to drop the lawsuits in return for saving him from the assailants. Nagia's father feigns illness. Samir publishes an article, claiming that the water is perfectly safe and pure.
Ahmed and Nagia confess their love for one another and he proposes to her. When Ahmed quarrels with his mother over money, Nagia reprimands him and advises him to beg her pardon.
Dr. Isma'il holds an online press conference, and Samir warns him off. The Hajja pays Nagia's father more money to get his daughter to leave Ahmed. Isma'il asks his wife and daughters to support him in his war against Samir's corruption.
Haniya protests in front of Isma'il's house and insults him to get him to walk back his claims. Ahmed consults a doctor who tells him his lungs are severely damaged. He asks his mother for his inheritance. Menna goes to a correctional facility, which devastates her mother.
Isma'il goes to the Hajja's house to check up on Ahmed; he starts treating him and urges him to quit drinking and smoking. Ahmed insists on marrying Nagia. Isma'il and his wife go to fetch their daughter from the correctional facility.
No matter how hard his mother tries to keep his illness at bay, Ahmed's health goes downhill. Samir confronts his wife and urges her to tell him the truth. Nagia is shocked and devastated to learn that Ahmed is her half-brother.
Isma'il's house burns to ashes and Samir offers to take him in. The Hajja tries to soothe Nagia. Samir's wife denies getting a loan from the bank. Haniya tries to incite the people against Isma'il and encourages them to go on a strike.
Nagia's father meets Ahmed and asks him to try to comfort her. Khalil and Nora side with Isma'il against Samir, and Khalil tries to demonstrate the truth of Isma'il's findings.
Isma'il protests in front of the municipal council against Samir's project. Ahmed quarrels with his mother and his health deteriorates. Samir tries to reconcile with his wife.
Nagia nurses Ahmed back to health and he starts to improve. Samir feels remorseful as his brother Isma'il tries to reason with him and awaken his conscience. The Hajja tells Nagia she loves her as a daughter. Haniya persists in her false claims.
Samir reconciles with his wife and she returns home with him. Ahmed starts getting treatment at Isma'il's clinic. Massive demonstrations take place, and Samir has a reawakening and sides with Isma'il against establishing the spa.
