When Captain Pruitt Herrera is injured during a call, his daughter Andy steps up to take command of the leaderless Station 19.

Ben is off to a rough start as they receive a call from his son's school. A severe car accident puts the team's lives on the line.

As Jack and Andy clash on how to proceed during a call, Frankel inadvertently makes things worse. Ben struggles to let go of the victims without following up on their condition.

The distance between Maya and Andy leaves the latter to confide in Ryan after she faces a personal problem. Ben tries to help Victoria with a career-ending problem.

Jack and Andy's relationship comes to light. Maya and Andy mend their friendship.

As Jack and Andy compete with other candidates for the captain position, Travis steps in as acting captain. Victoria enlists the team's help to get over her fear of fire.

A mishap during a call leaves the team in a perilous position. With a number of firefighters trapped inside a burning garage, they have to work together to find a way out.

As fire breaks out at a skyscraper, Ben is faced with an impossible decision between two of his colleagues. Andy goes against Ripley to save Dean and Jack.
