Omar's, an eight-year-old boy, grandfather appears to him in a dream after his death and asks him to look for the book. The child searches the Internet after realizing the book is Sahih al-Bukhari. The phone takes him in to Bukhara in 250 AH, where he meets Imam al-Bukhari.

Omar wakes up to tell his mother what happened, but she doesn't believe him. Television swallows him when he switches it on to watch Imam al-Bukhari urging him to continue. Al-Bukhari explains the guardianing of an orphan, his memorizing the Qur'an, and how he went blind from a dust storm when he was a child.

Omar teaches his mother about supplication, the Qur'an, and books. Al-Bukhari tells Omar about the first time he heard the mosque sheikh lead Friday prayers and how to perform Istikharah. Al-Bukhari recounts the story of Khaled sowing discord between him and the sheikh and how worshipers followed him to every mosque where he preached.

He returned to Bukhari ten years later, and his son Ahmed helped him write his book, which took sixteen years and to visit half the earth. Al-Bukhari’s mother died.
