Two very different fathers' lives collide when Dan's teenaged son Alex gets stabbed and dies and he holds Jon, trauma department hospital consultant responsible for the death.

Jon formally complains against Dan's behavior until he gets dismissed from the hospital coffee shop. Dan's relationship with his wife Susie hits a rough patch as his obsession increases.

After the authorities have let him down, Dan has no other options but taking matters into his own hands to uncover the truth.
