Roseanne's sudden death leaves the Conners reeling as they try to piece together what led to her death. They find out that she died from an opioid overdose, as she took the pills from various sources.

Darlene is shocked when she meets David's girlfriend, Blue, and later finds out that he's planning to take Mark and Harris to spend the weekend with them. Dan tries to help Becky with her drinking problem.

Darlene clashes with the school's administration, after they ban Mark's Halloween costume. Harris wants to drive Roseanne's old car. Jackie has a new boyfriend, Peter.

After learning that DJ has not taken Mary to church in two years, Geena insists they go as a family. Jackie's attempt to help Mark with a survey on the elections for his school project backfires.

Dan is shocked when Becky announces that she's pregnant with Emilio's baby. Dan is worried that Becky is not fully committed to facing her drinking problem. Darlene starts a new job.

Becky considers giving her baby up for adoption to a couple from her high school. Jackie wants to build a chicken coop in Dan's backyard to hang out with them more often. Darlene is annoyed by an unpleasant customer at work.

Dan tries to warn Jackie about Peter, after Dan realizes that he's taking advantage of her. Darlene starts a new romance with her boss.

Darlene clashes with Becky after she keeps a secret about Harris from her. Dan reconnects with his old high school friend, Louise. Jackie helps Peter with his history project.

Dan is injured after a vending-machine incident, and Darlene wants to sue the company for medical damages. Jackie is enraged after finding out that Becky is going to her rival life coach.

Darlene seeks Ben's help to teach Mark to play the piano. As Jackie throws Becky a baby shower, Emilio tries to convince Becky that he wants to be a part of the baby's life.

Jackie is devastated after she breaks up with Peter. After David leaves Blue, Darlene can't make up her mind about moving to Chicago with Ben. Becky's dreams are shattered after she finds out that Emilio will be deported to Mexico.
