Selim writes a letter to a girl at the institute named Serine whom he loves, and sends it through his friends in exchange for money that he stole from the house. Selim is frustrated when his friends tell him that Serine tore up the letter without reading it.

Selim tries to find a solution for the school so that the principal agrees to let him rejoin it after expelling him. His sister’s fiancé comes to visit them and Al Hadi photographs the family members.

As Selim fails to study before the exam, he takes a man from the market to pretend to be his uncle in front of the school principal, and the invigilator catches Selim cheating during the exam.

Selim is expelled from class, and his father becomes angry. Selim decides to leave home and go to live with the man he met in the market.

Al Hadi agrees with a teacher working at a private school to register Selim with him, and the matter ends in a quarrel between the teacher and Selim.

Selim quarrels with his parents and tries to commit suicide. The ambulance comes to save him, after which he refuses to talk to anyone, especially since Serine rejects him. As Selim feels frustrated, Al Hadi takes him to a psychiatrist.

The psychiatrist tells Al Hadi that his son suffers from a bad psychological condition, which is a lack of self-confidence. Al Hadi suspects that his son has feminine tendencies, so he gets angry and tries to change his mind.

As Selim asks the teacher to talk to them about love at school, the students make fun of him. One of Selim’s friends tricks him into thinking that Serine is waiting to go out with him.

Al Hadi discovers that Selim smokes, gets angry and quarrels with him, after which Selim decides to be independent from his father.

As Selim agrees with his friends to go to Serine's house at night, her father reports Selim to the police, and Al Hadi learns about the matter and is surprised by what his son did.

Selim decides to change his appearance and practice karate, and over time, he becomes strong and everyone is afraid of him.

Selim goes with his parents to a fortune teller to tell him the reason for the deterioration of his condition. The fortune teller tells them that Al Hadi is the reason, as he was the one who gave his son the evil eye. Selim goes to a doctor to treat his eye and get rid of the evil eye effect.

Selim becomes influenced by socialism and decides to go on a hunger strike and stage a sit-in at his house. Al Hadi fears the matter after Selim calls a news agency to cover the event.

As Al Hadi remembers the stages that Selim went through in the recent period, from dropping out of school and psychological illness, then how he became a boxer, until he became interested in politics and rejected the existing capitalist system, Al Hadi feels that he caused his son’s bad condition.
