Dr. Nancy Jaax, a US army scientist, picks up on a possible viral threat that threatens the entire country after she receives the remains of a dead monkey.

Nancy investigates the facility that the monkey came from to determine the extent of the outbreak. After successfully isolating and identifying the virus inside the lab, she enlists the help of Ebola expert Dr. Wade Carter.

With a CDC representative arriving to oversee the procedures, Nancy confronts the reality of how the measures they have to prevent an outbreak are woefully inadequate.

Nancy assembles a team to go into the research facility to eliminate any possible source of infection. Dr. Carter's obsessive ways raise Nancy's concerns.

As they go into the research facility, Nancy's team has to contend with unforeseen complications in a situation where one mistake can mean their lives.

With the public starting to get wind of the danger, nerves start to fray as the frazzled team faces the consequences of a dire mistake.
