Al-Madany is a well-known merchant among the people of the tribe. As he is visited by a genie, the keeper of the treasure, Madany pulls a fast one on the tribespeople and tells them he can revive their barren land. But when his lies are exposed, they decide to kill him.

When the Sheikh's wife comes down with the plague, Al-Madany poses as a man gifted with healing powers and hence can help the tribe, but when his lies are revealed, the people decide to end Madany's life. However, he pulls one trick as he shows them mystical light that blinds them as he flees.

Al-Madany poses as the Chief of Merchants as he meets the Sheikh and offers him gold and rubies. He meets the treasure keeper and asks him to give him the treasure. Meanwhile, the Sheikh catches his daughter's lover and whips him. The people of the tribe learn about Al-Madany's deceit.

Al-Madany recalls all the pranks he pulled on the tribespeople. The Hajja grows jealous when her husband takes a new wife. Al-Madany finds a box with a book that can unleash madness upon the world, and that's when the Sheikh arrests him. But Al-Madany flees amidst sparking fires.
