Sophia's disappearance derails the team's plan to go to Fort Benning.

An accidental shooting leads the team to a nearby farm where they are hosted by the owner. The need for urgent medical supplies sends Shane on a perilous mission.

Shane and Otis desperately try to navigate the swarming walkers, while Carl's life hangs in the balance.

As Carl regains his strength, the group turns its attention to finding Sofia. Glenn and Maggie team up on a supply run.

Daryl falls victim to an attack by walkers in the woods. Rick weighs his options. Glenn is confused about Maggie's true feelings for him.

A confrontation between Dale and Hershel takes place regarding the walkers in the barn. Lori is torn over her pregnancy. Shane teaches Andrea how to defend herself.

The news about the walkers in the barn splits the group. Hershel assigns Rick to do a tough mission or he will make the group leave.

Reeling from the barn incident, the group struggles to move on. As Hershel goes missing, Rick and Glenn go looking for him.

Rick, Glenn and Hershel get shot at after meeting with Dave and Tony. Shane searches for Lori when she goes missing.

Rick and Shane get into a quarrel over Randall, while the group deals with Beth who's having panic attacks.

When the group vote to have Randall executed, Dale grows worried that they're losing their humanity.

Shane kills Randall, and as he tries lure Rick to a distant area to get rid of him, Rick kills him. The farm becomes under attack.

In the aftermath of Rick and Shane's face-off, the group tries to escape from the farm as the walkers attack it. As they suffer many casualties, they find refuge in an area close to the prison. Rick takes charge, deciding that democracy will have no place in the group.
