The DiMeo family moves into a new neighborhood to get their disabled son JJ into an inclusive school. The family is excellent at dealing with whatever hardships JJ's cerebral palsy causes him, but they are just as excellent at creating new hardships of their own.
Maya takes the family to task about using JJ as an excuse for their less-than-ideal life. The family starts looking into colleges for JJ. Maya and Ray deal with school troubles.
