The story follows the period of King Henry VIII and his rule of England, as he finds himself desperate for an heir in addition to his gradual distance from his wife, and when he meets a woman named Anne Boleyn, things quickly turn around.


The events take place during the reign and numerous marriages of King Henry VIII and the conflicts he fought. Henry will stop at nothing to marry Anne Boleyn, while the papacy in Rome plans an assassination plot against her.


After the execution of Anne Boleyn, King Henry VIII marries again in the hope of having a male heir, as challenges to his authority from inside and outside the kingdom threaten his grip on the throne of England.


The events revolve around the reign and marriages of King Henry VIII, who defeated the northern rebels, while his wife Catherine forces an old friend to remain silent about her past.
