As Liz gets closer to learning the truth about Reddington, she starts to plan his downfall with Katarina Rostova. Reddington assigns the task group to locate a blacklister recognized for intricate extractions.

When Liz and Katarina kidnap Liz's elderly grandfather, Dom, to find out what Reddington's real secrets are, the conflict between Katarina, Liz, and Reddington reaches a boiling point. Ressler and the rest of the task force deal with the fallout from Liz's actions.

Liz leaves the FBI while still mourning her mother's passing and plans her vengeance against Reddington. Cooper and the other members of the task team start looking for Liz, and they learn that she has plans to kill Reddington.

Liz embarks on a mission to track all of Reddington's associates once Reddington puts her on the blacklist, as she wants to turn them against him so she may take over his criminal business. Due to Liz's efforts for the FBI, the task team is hesitant to place her under custody.

A previous blacklist case resurfaces when the task force looks into a group of bank robbers who specialize in stealing from other criminals.

Cooper invites Aram to pose as a sign language translator and visit a business that provides illicit services to criminals while Cooper goes undercover. Meanwhile, Reddington learns the heartbreaking news that his friend Glen Carter has passed away from West Nile virus.

The Task Force needs to act quickly to avert the dual threat posed by two blacklisters. For information, Cooper contacts a lawmaker.

The task force is looking into a contractor's disappearance. Cooper gets a job offer to cover a Senate position. Later, while intelligence is attempting to find Reddington, Cooper is compelled to make a loyalty decision. Reddington also gets an unanticipated romantic interest.

When Liz resolves to turn herself in, the task force is one step closer to finding her before they are diverted. However, Ressler realizes that it is Liz's doppelgänger and that Liz is in a secret place.

When Townsend sends in a torture expert who employs unconventional tactics to question her captives, Red and Dembe find themselves in danger.

The task force looks for a young criminal who, according to Reddington, utilizes geocaching to conceal illegal goods and promote trade between rival criminal organizations. In the meantime, Reddington works to foil a Cooper assassination plan.

Rakitin is told to assassinate Cooper for looking into Reddington's Russian partner's scheme. Agent Park, whom Reddington blackmails into assisting him, unintentionally poisons and murders Rakitin before the latter can divulge what Reddington is up to.

To protect Anne from Townsend, Reddington turns himself in until more units come to rescue them. Reddington receives help from Anne to leave the police station, but when he visits Anne's house, he sees an armed stranger and thinks Liz is keeping Anne at gunpoint.

Together with Townsend, Reddington's fiercest nemesis, Liz sets out to get rid of Reddington, and she sees Mr. Kaplan directing her toward the direction of Reddington's destruction at the same time.

Liz learns that Reddington communicates with his Russian handler using a cipher machine. By tricking the task force into stealing the machine, Reddington seeks to prevent Liz from having it. Ressler aids Liz in utilizing the machine so that Liz can show Townsend that Reddington is the Russian agent N13.

Reddington assists the task force in apprehending a criminal recruiter; however, he forces Townsend to add a thief to his squad so she may spy for him. Townsend intercepts Ressler's calls and learns the task force has identified Reddington's purported Russian contact. Townsend kidnaps Ressler.

Ivan Stepanov, whom Townsend believes to be Reddington's handler, gets interrogated. While searching for Keen, the task force searches Townsend's office and storms the warehouse, where Townsend and Reddington are engaged in a shootout. However, Ivan Stepanov, Reddington, and Keen flee.

Townsend employs the Protean, a murderer, to travel to Keen, who manages to flee. The Protean shoots at Liz's car as she runs away, killing her half-sister. While Liz questions the Protean, Reddington provides the task force with information about the Protean, allowing them to locate them.

The convoy of Ressler and Keen gets attacked by Townsend's cronies. As Ressler gets shot, Keen takes him to a location where Reddington has made arrangements for their transportation. When Bino discovers that Townsend is looking for Keen, he offers Townsend to take her. Reddington kills Bino to save Keen.

As Reddington and Liz flee Townsend's attack, Liz turns herself in to the task team. Reddington sends his squad to free Liz from FBI custody while implanting a chip in Page's neck to track down Townsend, who concurs. Liz travels to Latvia with Reddington to learn the things she's been dying to know.

Liz learns about her mother's past as a Russian agent, her relationship with the real Reddington, and that the Katarina Red killed was a prop used to simulate the death. Townsend attacks before Liz finds out who Reddington is or where Katarina is. Reddington turns on a self-destruction mechanism.

Reddington carries a wounded Liz after murdering Townsend and his soldiers. Reddington tells Liz about his plan for her to kill him, but Liz finds it hard and gets shot dead. Dembe takes Reddington and flees as Ressler and the task group arrive at the crime scene.
