Officer Rahim is able to locate Abbas in the cemetery, so he decides to go to arrest him and get the manuscripts. Iman agrees to remarry Abdel Wahed in exchange for getting Mustafa back.
The cemetery is raided and Abu Nima is arrested, while Khadr goes down to the catacomb and starts digging to find gold.
As the year 2003 comes, war breaks out across Iraq, and America launches a missile attack on Baghdad and its suburbs, so the youth of Najaf decide to arm themselves.
The people of Najaf prevent the American forces from entering the old city as everyone unites to defend Najaf, and Abu Nima dies in the cemetery.
