Samer argues with his sister Marah; Abu Fouad asks to rent the room of Samer's late father, which will help Samer's family out financially, but Samer adamantly disagrees.
Samer tells Marah to pretend she's sick so they can get out of renting out their father's room. Marah does and her mother actually believes she's sick.
Samer tells his sister he'll have their paternal aunt Neamat come over so the lawyer wouldn't be able to rent the room, but she warns him that their aunt has an evil eye.
Samer thinks Marah is faking her illness and tells her to stop. However, when he gets sick afterwards, calls his maternal aunt, and discovers she's sick as well, he accuses his paternal aunt Neamat's evil eye.
Samer tells Marah he'll pretend to be kidnapped and call his mother to ask for a huge ransom. Marah refuses, afraid of what the shock might do to her mother, but Samer forces her to go through with it.
The inspector has doubts about Samer's statement and gathers the whole family, questioning him in front of them, making them suspect he planned and did it all himself.
Samer begrudgingly agrees to rent out his late father's room. Abu Fouad introduces him to Abul Ward, telling him he's the man interested in renting it.
Abul Ward is constantly singing until very late hours, unconcerned about how annoyed his roommates feel. Samer knocks on his door and warns him against doing it again.
Samer's neighbors file a complaint against him to detective Abu Mazen, who tells Samer that his neighbors are very annoyed by him and have actually filed a police report against him. He also tells him to apologize so that they can withdraw it.
Samer suspects that Abul Ward has feelings for his mother after he keeps coming up with excuses to knock on their door to see her, so Samer formulates a plan to get rid of him.
Samer is further irritated by Abul Ward after a friend of his comes over and stays in his room. He shares this with Marah who suggests a plan to kick them out of the building.
Samer tells Marah that the only way to get Abul Ward to leave the building is to convince him that it's haunted and that the ghosts are after him, to which Marah agrees.
Marah dresses in all-white, goes into Abul Ward's room, and demands he leaves the bulding. Abul Ward is terrified and believes she's a ghost.
Umm Samer (Samer's mother) finds out about her children's ploy against Abul Ward and forces them to clean the apartment daily as punishment.
Abul Ward tells Umm Samer she could rent out part of her apartment to a film crew to help support her children. Umm Samer agrees, but while filming, Samer, Marah, and Samiha ruin the scene and the actors freak out.
Samer and Abu Mazen agree to kick Abul Ward out of his room. Abu Mazen comes with the police to Abul Ward's room because of his constant singing all night long.
Samer is positive that Abul Ward has feelings for his mother. He tells Marah that he's fed up with him and he decides to set up a new plan to get rid of him.
Samer is forced to seek Abul Ward's help to fend off some unwanted guests. They join forces for the first time and actually succeed to persuade the guests to leave the apartment.
Aunt Neamat comes by and says she'll stay for a few days. Meanwhile, Samer gets to know Abul Ward better and realizes how kindhearted he actually is, despite what he initially thought.
Marah tells Samer that she too has begun to warm up towards Abul Ward and is starting to see how kindhearted he is.
Abul Ward has his friend sneak into Samer's room and threaten him with a gun to confess his true feelings towards the former. When Samer finds out, he sets out for revenge.
Abul Ward has his friend sneak into Umm Samer's room to convince her to reconsider the former's marriage proposal.
Abul Ward tells Umm Samer he loves her and asks for her hand in marriage. Samer is furious after finding out what Abul Ward has done.
After realizing his mother has agreed to marry Abul Ward, Samer becomes adamant on throwing him out of the building. He tells Marah that she needs to join forces with him to get rid of Abul Ward.
Samer tries to get rid of Abul Ward in every possible way, even seeking Abu Fouad's help in the process. Abul Ward considers leaving the building and Umm Samer after Samer's many attempts to push him away.
Umm Samer is furious at her son and threatens to leave her house. Abul Ward intervenes to fix things between mother and son and manages to do so after a struggle.
Two men arrive from the Artists Syndicate telling Abul Ward he has a fine to pay for having a concert in his home without a permit, which makes Samer secretly happy.
Samer tells Marah his next plan is to financially exhaust Abul Ward so he won't be able to pay rent and leave, and Umm Samer is angry at her son's constant attempts to kick Abul Ward out.
Samer confronts Marah who tells him she doesn't mind her mother's marriage to Abul Ward, which infuriates him. He threatens his mother that he'll leave the house if she marries Abul Ward.
Samer feels guilty and apologizes to Abul Ward; Fayyad and Marah get engaged; and Abul Ward officially asks for Umm Samer's hand in marriage. However, when she remembers her late husband, she rejects Abul Ward's proposal.
