Set in 1980 in Faiyum Governorate, Abdel Rahim Pasha asks his sister Nawal to stop her constant attack on Fatima and her daughter Ruqayya. Magdy expresses his admiration for Zeina. A group of masked men attack Abdel Rahim’s land and burn his crop.

Abdel Rahim refuses to accuse anyone of burning his crop and asks the warden to close the complaint. Abdel Rahim tells Atiyat that he signed a part of the land over to his daughters and asks her not to tell anyone.

Mahmoud quarrels with his sister Zeina after he sees her with Magdy, the son of Saber, a weaver. Mahmoud warns Saber and tells him that his son has crossed all the lines and asks him to keep Magdy away from Zeina.

Abdel Rahim goes crazy after he learns that Zeina is seeing Magdy. Mahmoud incites a group of thugs to poison Mortada Al Sahar's livestock. Mortada files a complaint against Mahmoud, whom the prosecution orders his arrest.

At the present time, a man threatens Zeina with death if she doesn't stop her research and taking up the pesticide case. Zeina calls Ruqayya and asks her to meet her and Rauf.

In a flashback, Maryam asks her brother Mortada to contain their older sister and give her her inheritance, but he refuses. The prosecution releases Mahmoud, and Abdel Rahim takes him back to the palace. Zeina apologizes to her father about her story with Magdy.

Abdel Rahim travels to his second wife, who's in Cairo. Zeina sends a message to Magdy. Atiyat asks Fatima to take care of her husband, Mahmoud, and her daughter, Ruqayya.

Abdel Rahim tells Mortada that his men robbed the barn on his land and distributed its contents to the town's poor people, and that he won't be able to prove the matter. He also warns Mortada to stay away from his family, otherwise he'll inform the police on his illicit trading in antiquities.

When Magdy asks Abdel Rahim for Zeina's hand in marriage, Abdel Rahim tells him that he agrees to his marriage to his daughter but only if he can provide her with the same luxuries she has, so Magdy feels embarrassed and leaves.

Abdel Rahim tells Zeina that Dr. Jamal has asked for hand in marriage, and Zeina tells him that she refuses. Maryam tells Mahmoud that his wife Fatima spoke to her after school and asked her to stay away from him.

Zeina decides not to run away with Magdy and returns to the palace. Masoud tells Mahra that he's been in love with her since the first moment he saw her.

Abdel Rahim slaps his daughter Mahra after he learns her story with Masoud. Zeina tries to explain the matter to him, so he slaps her as well. Zeina consoles her sister and tells her not to despair.

Fatima tells her husband that she learned about his story with Maryam and asks him to give her a chance to win his heart and make him forget Maryam.

Mahmoud learns that Bakri stole money. Mortada tells Burhan that his percentage from the smuggling of antiquities will be reduced, upon which he loses his head and warns him of the consequences of his behavior. Mortada tries to make Salma fall in love with him and marry her.

Maryam tells her brother Mortada that Hamzawy knew where his wife Rahma was and took her against her will, whereupon Mortada loses his head.

Abdel Razek tells his daughter that the police arrested her husband, Dr. Sharif, for his involvement with a communist cell. Mortada loses his temper when he learns that Hamzawy is the one who shot Maryam, and threatens him.

Rahma goes to Maryam in the hospital and tells her that Hamzawy divorced her, which overjoys Maryam. Mahmoud reassures Maryam that he still loves her like before and more. Fatima gets angry when she learns that Mahmoud visited Maryam in the hospital.

Abdel Rahim tells Mahmoud that he knows all the details of his story with Maryam and of his last visit to her in the hospital, asking him to stay away from her.

Abdel Rahim confronts his son Rauf, who tells him that he is aware that he has other siblings, so Abdel Rahim tells him that he left him an inheritance and money in the bank.

Sharif returns and asks Abdel Razek that he get back together with his wife, but Abdel Razek refuses Sharif's request and tells him that his story with his daughter is over for good. Abdel Rahim tells his wife that he decided to take her with him to live in the big house.

Abdel Rahim's second wife, Donia, dies, and he tells his son Rauf that he will travel to the town to introduce the matter to his sisters and will return to bring him to town to settle there with him.

Abdel Rahim falls seriously ill after the death of his wife. Mahmoud marries Maryam without the knowledge of Abdel Rahim and her brother Mortada. Abdel Rahim dies.

Mortada learns of the death of his enemy Abdel Rahim and tells Ziyad that he will ask for his land from Mahmoud, his son, and will offer him double the price he was offering to his father. Rauf goes to his father's house and tells the family that he is Abdel Rahim Al Makhmali's son.

Mahmoud doubts Rauf's words and kicks him out of the house. Mahmoud shows the papers to his uncle, the lawyer, and asks him to verify that Rauf is his father's son. Abdel Razek tells Mahmoud and Atiyat that Rauf is not a forger as he thinks.

Ziyad asks to get back together with his ex-wife, Maryam, but she refuses, so Ziyad tells Mortada that he'll file a case and take his daughter against his sister's will. Mahmoud makes sure from his lawyer uncle that the papers are valid, and he tells him that Rauf is his brother and his father's son.

Atiyat collapses after making sure that Abdel Rahim married another woman besides her before his death. Mahmoud tells the family that he will not let his father's inheritance go to someone who is not from the family.

Rauf asks his brother Mahmoud not to deny his lineage, especially after he became sure that he is his brother. He also tells him that he wants nothing but to get close to him and the family.

Mahmoud quarrels with Rauf after he learns that he brought Owais back to work on the land without telling him. Mahmoud asks Rauf to buy the land he inherited, and Rauf refuses. Rauf gets close to his sister Mahra.

Mahra learns by chance that her father is the one who caused the death of her mother, Habashia. Mortada asks Rauf to buy the land he inherited for a large sum, but he refuses.

Rauf discovers that Mortada wants to buy his land in order to return his absent father's inheritance, so he refuses to sell his land to him. Rauf asks to speak with Atiyat, but she refuses.

Mahmoud loses his head when he learns that Rauf sat with his enemy Mortada. Mahmoud quarrels with Rauf and warns him not to listen again to Mortada.

Rauf asks Mahra to tell him the history of Mortada's family and everything she knows about them. Zeina asks Rauf to try to get closer to Atiyat again.

As Mortada loses his temper when he learns that Mahmoud is secretly married to his sister, he points a weapon at Mahmoud and threatens him with death if he does not divorce his sister.

Atiyat asks Maryam not to talk to her under any circumstances and tells her that she didn't approve of her son Mahmoud's marriage to her.

Wafa collapses after learning that her husband, Sharif, is married to another woman. Mortada's sister asks him to leave their younger sister, Maryam, alone.

Maryam's ex-husband asks her to forget her daughter completely and tells her that the only way for him to give her her daughter is that she ask for a divorce from Mahmoud Al Makhmali.

Mortada agrees with Mahmoud and the lawyer of the Al Makhmaliya family to forge papers and contracts in order to recover the land for which he has been searching for a long time. Mahmoud feels that he has wronged his brother Rauf.

Ziyad threatens Mahmoud and Maryam that if they do not return his daughter to him, he will take legal action and take her against their will. Maryam strengthens her relationship with her husband Mahmoud's family and gets close to Zeina and Mahra.

Mahmoud confronts his uncle with the fact that he stole the family's seal and signed contracts to sell the land to his enemy Mortada. Ismail tells his friend Rauf that he is in love with his sister Mahra and wants to marry her.

Mahmoud agrees to Mahra's marriage to Ismail and decides to return Maryam's daughter to her father. Also, Mahmoud learns that Maryam is the one who made up the story of her daughter's kidnapping so that the child wouldn't return to her father.

Ismail celebrates his engagement to Mahra with the family. Fatima refuses to help Maryam reach her daughter.

Abdel Moneim tells Mortada that the prosecution made sure the seal and signature of the papers aren't fake, and thus the land became his property. Also, he tries to dispel the accusation against him and tells the Al Makhmaliya family that Mahmoud sold the land without their knowledge because of Maryam.

Mortada discovers that his wife Salma misled him during the last period after she changed the results of his test and told him that he cannot have children. Mortada takes Salma to her brother Amin's house and divorces her.

Mortada marries Hind after he learns that she is pregnant by him. Maryam asks her brother Mortada to give up the land to her husband Mahmoud to get rid of his torment and get a divorce from him, but Mortada refuses her request.

As Maryam tells Mahmoud that she is pregnant, Mahmoud asks her to forgive him after his bad treatment of her for the past period, but she tells him that she will have an abortion because of his deception and mistreatment of her.

After the police arrest Mortada Al Sahar on charges of smuggling antiquities, he asks his wife Hind to take good care of his unborn baby. The doctor tells Mahmoud that he could not save his unborn child from his wife, Maryam.

Rauf tells Mahra that her groom Ismail has passed away, so she breaks down in tears and loses her head. Rauf tells Mahmoud that he has agreed to sell his share of the land. Later on, Maryam dies.

As the days pass by, the parents grow older and the children grow up. Mahmoud tells his wife Fatima that Medhat, the son of Amin Al Hawari, a member of the People's Assembly, wants to marry their daughter Ruqayya, but Fatima refuses the matter and quarrels with Mahmoud.

Mahmoud tells Ruqayya that he will not let her become like her aunt Zeina, who has not yet married, and that if she insists on refusing the new suitor, he will take her with him to town.

Mahmoud refuses that his enemy Ziyad partner up with him on a big project. Ruqayya marries Medhat, who treats her badly and beats her on the wedding night.

Medhat apologizes to his wife Ruqayya, tells her that he has been in love with her for a long time and did not mean to hurt her on their wedding night, and asks her to forgive him.

Fatima tells Mahmoud that the family of his son-in-law is treating Ruqayya badly and asks him to intervene. Mahmoud discovers that Ziyad has defrauded him and taken his money.

Afaf discovers that her husband Rauf is having an affair with Sama and confronts him; after he denies it at first, he confesses and asks her to forgive him.

Mahmoud tells Amin that his sister Salma is in a relationship with a man in town and that the matter has been exposed. When Salma goes to visit Amin after learning of his illness, he expels her and asks her to travel to Paris and never return.

An unknown person shoots Mahmoud and injures his arm. The doctor tells Mahmoud's family that his condition is serious. Mortada tells his wife that he has nothing to do with Mahmoud's accident.

Magdy rejoices when the doctor tells him that his wife Zeina is pregnant. Fatima asks Mahmoud to talk to his son-in-law and ask him to treat Ruqayya with respect.

Al Hawari dies in grief after the party abandoned him. Mortada kidnaps Ruqayya, and Zeina makes sure that Magdy is involved with Shams Al Beltagy in corruption cases.

Zeina tries in various ways to obtain the documents that incriminate Magdy and Al Beltagy and finds them. Mahmoud learns that Mortada is the one who kidnapped Ruqayya.

Zeina decides to expose the truth about the corruption of her husband, Magdy, and his partner in her program, in front of a live audience. Mahmoud tries to save Ruqayya from Mortada's grip. The police arrest Al Beltagy.

Ruqayya returns home safely and decides to finish her novel about the family and the big house. She also confesses her love for Youssef but tells him that it is difficult to get back together with him, after which she leaves.
