As Hamza recounts his dream with the whale to his grandfather, he tells him about his teacher's assignment that he writes the story of the Prophet Jonah and that there aren't enough sources of information on the Internet, so his grandfather decides to help him.
Hamza learns that Jonah was the grandson of Benjamin, brother of Joseph, son of Jacob. His grandfather tells him the history of the city of Nineveh, that witnessed the conflict between the Assyrians and the Babylonians, which ended with the death of King Sargon.
Sennacherib is installed as king after the death of his father, the king of the Assyrian empire, however, his reign suffers from discord for not abiding by his father’s command to leave Nineveh. Morgan, the whale, triumphs over the evil whale, Zamharir.
As the grandfather continues narrating the story, Hamza learns that Sennacherib's mother plans with the high priest to keep King Sennacherib in Nineveh instead of letting him travel to Babylon. The king is convinced to stay when he sees the birds as signs from the goddess Ishtar.
Hamza listens to the story of Sennacherib's battle in Babylon with the king of the Babylon and the king of Jerusalem, but he grows impatient for Jonah’s appearance in the story, so his grandfather tells him that he was a good man who prayed to God to fight injustice and corruption.
The Babylonian King Ator decides to wage war to retake Babylon, so Sennacherib leaves Nineveh to help his brother in the war.
As Sennacherib's army unites with Sahure's, together they clash with Ator's army, upon which the latter flees. Sahure proposes to his brother to march against the king of Jerusalem who failed to join the battle.
As Sennacherib and Sahure form an alliance with the king of Jerusalem, the former becomes attracted to Golda, the king's daughter. Jonah awaits God's message upon learning of his prophethood.
Hezekiah, the king of Jerusalem, offers to marry his daughter, Golda, to Sennacherib, whereupon the latter is surprised to learn that his brother Sahure wants to marry her, while Golda is determined to marry Sennacherib.
As Golda expresses her wish to marry Sennacherib, things get complicated between him and Sahure. Jonah, who receives the teachings of religion from Gabriel, informs his father that he’s been chosen to be God’s prophet.
As Sennacherib marries Golda following Sahure's approval, Ator learns of the marriage and the termination of his alliance with King Hezekiah, whereupon he decides to take revenge and invade Babylon again in Sennacherib's absence.
In the wedding ceremony in Nineveh, when Golda refuses to prostrate before Ishtar, she gets into great trouble with Princess Banipal, Sennacherib’s mother.
God sends Jonah to his people in Nineveh to invite them to worship Him. The high priest, with Princess Banipal’s help, plans to punish Golda for fear of people renouncing paganism and converting to her faith.
The high priest seeks the help of the king's guard to kill Golda. As the librarian of Nineveh meets the woman at whose house Jonah stayed, she tells him of the latter's miracles.
Rubil tries to help the old lady who hosted Jonah get back what she’s due, after which he meets Jonah, who tells him that he is God’s prophet.
The head of the guards devises a plan with the high priest to kill Golda. Rubil learns the teachings of the new religion from Jonah, whereas the old lady learns the principles of the religion and how to claim her right from Sennacherib.
Golda helps Nihar regain her land. Rubil recounts his conversation with Jonah to the minister. The head of the guards plots to have a tree dropped on Golda killing her.
The plot is carried out, leaving Golda in a coma, whereupon Sennacherib cuts his trip short and returns to Nineveh to see his wife. Jonah continues to spread God’s message.
Golda is healed upon Jonah’s invocation to his God, after which the high priest plots with the queen against him, whereas Sennacherib investigates the incident. News of the healing miracles of Jonah’s God spread.
Jonah turns down Golda’s reward, whereas the head of the guards is interrogated about his involvement in the incident. Golda tries to persuade Sennacherib to agree to Jonah’s request to give Nihar back her right.
Oriban, the head of the guards, is killed by an unknown person. Golda conveys the news of her pregnancy to the king, whereas Jonah informs Sennacherib of the queen's involvement with the high priest in the attempt to kill the princess.
Sennacherib confirms Jonah’s claim about the culpability of his mother and the priest, whereas Jonah’s sentenced to be banished for standing by those claiming their rights from the king. Sennacherib negotiates with Jonah over his supplication for rain in exchange for staying in Nineveh.
God hears Jonah’s supplication for rain, which He grants. Sennacherib rejects Jonah’s religion, whereas Golda, who gives birth to her baby, embraces it, leading Sennacherib to be on the verge of punishing her.
The war on Jonah begins when Golda embraces his religion, whereas Sennacherib burns Nihar’s house to delude people into thinking that Ishtar’s angry. God sends a seed to a land by the sea and commands it to wait for its growth as it will be of great significance.
Sennacherib orders that Golda be jailed, and Melikha, the maker of Ishtar’s idols, be killed, for believing in Jonah’s God, while Jonah leaves after despairing of the unjust king. As God sends his torment on the village, unleashing heavy smoke on it, Sennacherib discovers that Jonah was right.
The people of Nineveh repent to bring an end to the punishment inflicted upon them, whereas the priest refuses to repent. As the boat runs into a storm in the middle of the sea, the passengers resort to drawing lots, whereupon Jonah is chosen.
Sennacherib believes in Jonah’s God, whereas the priest Nasriel refuses to abandon the worship of Ishtar, so he dies from severe torment. God lifts his torment of Jonah’s people, while Jonah is thrown into the sea after the lot fell on him, then the whale Morgan devours him so he wouldn’t drown.
God commands the whale to preserve Jonah, so the whale, fearing for him, refrains from eating. Sennacherib decides to give the people their due rights, following God's command. While inside the whale, Jonah continues to seek forgiveness from God.
Sennacherib sends his men in search of Jonah. God commands the whale to eject the Prophet towards the shore, He then commands the seed to grow to protect Jonah as he gets out sick.
As Jonah recovers, he goes to Nineveh, where he receives a warm welcome. Sennacherib decides to conclude a peace treaty with the Babylonians upon learning of their wish to resume the war.
