The Neighborhood's Gate باب الحارة


The events take place in the 1920s in Syria, in the neighborhood of Al-Dab'a, after the theft of gold from the home of the cloth merchant, Abu Ibrahim, and the murder of the guard Abu Sam'u, the men of the neighborhood try to find the thief.


As everyone rallies around to support and maintain the revolutionary efforts, Abu Shehab assumes the leadership of the neighborhood. The neighborhood people seek revenge on the murderer Satif.


The tale of the revolutionary struggles of the people continues. The neighborhood is shocked by Abu Issam's sudden departure. A new doctor, Ibn Al-Baghgaty, arrives in the neighborhood, showing his skill in treating incurable diseases.


Tension rises as the English forces besiege the neighborhood of Al-Dab'a. As the French issue an order for Abu Shehab's detainment, he decides to flee and moves in with the rebels, providing them with weapons to aid the Palestinians in their resistance of the English forces.


As Abu Diab arrives in the neighborhood, he is shocked to learn that Ma'amoun Bey, Ferial Khanum's husband, is there. It turns out the two men are acquaintances from back when Abu Diab was imprisoned alongside Abu Shehab, which makes Abu Diab disguises himself as a waste collector.


The sixth season of the popular series focuses on the period of Syria’s liberation from brutal French colonialism. This season, we will witness the return of Abu Issam as new characters emerge, as is the case every season.


The series resumes the stories about Levantine life, covering the period in the 1930s, including the 1936 treaty which paved the way for Syria's independence, through the story of Mo'taz, a Muslim man whose wish to marry the Jewish Sarah ignites a sectarian divide within the neighborhood,...Read more intersecting with the events of the French occupation of the country.


Set in the 1930s, the eighth season continues to depict the life of the people within their neighborhood, Al-Dab'a, as well as their interactions with other neighborhoods in the wider Levant. It also sheds light on the societal and political development of the region.


Abu Issam continues to bear the burden of solving the neighborhood's problems. As his conflict with Abu Zafer over the leadership of the neighborhood continues, Abu Zafer ends up murdered with Colonel Mo'taz's dagger. Abu Issam gets framed for the murder and is sentenced to death.


Set during the French occupation of Syria, after the bombing of a small town in Damascus, the people of Al-Dab'a neighborhood have to take refuge in Al-Salihiya neighborhood, and carry on with their lives under occupation and life's ordeals.


The events escalate after Abu Azzam discovers the identity of his son’s killer, and a series of new crimes take place in the neighborhood, making the residents feel insecure. But the question remains: who is behind these incidents?


As the conflict flares up again between Abu Mustafa and Abu Al-Nar, Abu Mustafa incites the people of the neighborhood against Abu Al-Nar, so the latter is forced to leave the neighborhood with his son Yahya. Will Abu Mustafa succeed in his plan?


The events move from Al-Salihiyah neighborhood to Al Dabbie neighborhood, and the events take place after the end of the French Mandate for Syria and the declaration of Syria as an independent state.
