Ismail grieves after the death of his wife, so Hazem tries to comfort him. Meanwhile, the minister tries to create a dispute between the governor and Ismail by claiming that he is behind the market inflation. Ibn Ahmed asks Harith to persuade Ismail to return to work.

As Ismail refuses to take over as the merchant chiefdom, fearing the injustice of everyone after his great loss, Harith resents Ismail's assumption and considers himself more deserving of him. Elsewhere, Masoud suggests that Hamza marries Harith’s sister, Faraa.

When the governor asks Ibn Ahmed to search for a clerk for the Diwan, Harith covets this position. As Ibn Ahmed is considering nominating Hazem, the minister sows dissension between the governor and Ibn Ahmed.

When Hazem asks Harith to marry his sister Faraa, he refuses. The governor announces that Hazem will be the clerk of the Diwan.

A merchant turns to Masoud to help him with the loss of one of his caravans. When Masoud requires him to return the money with an increase, Ibn Ahmed summons him for trading in usury money.

Rawda resents her mother-in-law Umm Saad's treatment. Meanwhile, Harith suspects that Hazem no longer wants to marry his sister after taking the position of the Diwan's clerk.

Hazem is attacked by an unknown person in the market, and the conflict between Rawda and her mother-in-law intensifies.

The governor orders the minister to search for the person who attacked Hazem and threatens to dismiss him. Rawda leaves the house, but Umm Saad admits her mistake in front of Ibn Ahmed and asks for Rawda's forgiveness.

A merchant comes to Ismail and asks him to return a debt he borrowed from his father, but Ismail denies that this happened and asks Ibn Ahmad to judge between them.

When Gaafar offers Harith goods to buy, the latter asks Ibn Ahmed to help him, and he asks for a loan from Ghassan's wife to share the goods with him. Ismail is surprised when the merchant, Salam, tells him that he paid him a large amount of money and did not write a check for that.

As Masoud agrees with Matar to set up Ibn Ahmed, they send him gifts at his house. Meantime, Matar meets Hazem and asks him to help him buy land.

A peasant discovers that Matar owns the deed to land similar to his own. After the governor interrogates Ibn Ahmed for receiving bribes and gifts, his innocence is proven.

Rabab forces her husband, Asim, to fulfill all her needs, even if he steals and defrauds. Nour is treacherously accused of stealing, but his innocence is proven by Ismail.

Masoud asks the bartender, Gamal El Din, to gossip about some people, while his wife, Khawla, causes people to gossip and backbite, which angers Ibn Ahmed.

As Hasna complains about her husband and his miserliness, her son goes to Ibn Ahmed to complain about his father's miserliness, while her husband asks the old man Salem for his daughter Karma's hand in marriage.

Ibn Ahmed takes care of the orphan girl, Lubna, and blames the minister for his wrongful treatment of his stepson and his use of his money to please his first wife, forgetting that he should grant the orphan his rights.
