Hammad helps his father in fishing, and at the same time, he excels in his studies, aspiring to become a doctor or an officer. On the other hand, his neighbor and childhood friend, Ibtisam, likes him and wishes to marry him.

Hammad succeeds in school and decides to travel abroad to complete his studies; however, Ibtisam is sad about his travel.

As Abu Hammad waits for his son to return from travel, Ibtisam moves with her parents to a new house. Abu Hammad resents the condescending treatment of his friend, Awad.

Abu Hammad receives a telegram stating that his son Hammad will soon return from America, so he goes to the airport to search for his son and gets lost

Hammad returns from travel, becomes an officer, and is welcomed by his father and the people of the neighborhood. Hammad's father holds a party to celebrate him.

As Hammad takes on his job as an officer, Awad asks his wife, Umm Ibtisam, to visit Umm Hammad and congratulate her on the return of her son, but she refuses due to the financial difference between them.

As Hammad returns to help his father in fishing, Abu Hammad tells his son about Awad’s change in his treatment of him after he became rich.

Hammad asks his father to propose to marry Ibtisam, but her mother refuses. Hammad moves with his parents to a new house and leaves the old neighborhood.

As Hammad insists on marrying Ibtisam, he turns to her uncle Adel to help him convince her mother to marry her.

Majed tries to convince his wife to accept Hammad's request to marry Ibtisam but to no avail. Abu Hammad gives his son money to pay Ibtisam's mother so she can agree to his marriage to her daughter.

Hammad and his mother are upset that his father sold their old house, and Ibtisam’s mother agrees to the marriage. However, Hammad is surprised by his father’s refusal to accompany him to ask for Ibtisam’s hand in marriage.

As Ibtisam's mother tries to change her mind about accepting Hammad's marriage to Ibtisam, Hammad is surprised by his friend's wish to propose to marry Ibtisam.

Hammad is surprised when his friend's father helps him proceed with his marriage to Ibtisam, and the marriage ceremony takes place after Ibtisam's mother approves.
