Set in the heart of the vast Yorkshire countryside in the 1930s and 1940s, a group of vets venture across the green fields and uncover the charm of country life.
The second season begins in the spring in the Yorkshire Dales, where young vet James Herriot finds himself forced to choose between caring for his family or following his heart.
This season is set in 1939, as James and Helen get married, and James works to take on more responsibility in the county council. However, the possibility of a second world war forces James back to square one.
