In a flashback, Anis marries Fatima from Al Shazouli's family, and Al Shazouli marries Zahra, who objects to his using magic and sorcery. In the midst of a quarrel between them, Zahra dies after falling from the balcony, so a devastated Al Shazouli resorts to conjuring her spirit.

Mohie, Zahra's grandson, holds an art exhibition. As Dounia's mother insists on keeping Mohie and her daughter apart because of the social difference, she plots with Aser to separate them in exchange for money. Aser resorts to Anis and his wife Rima so she'd seduce Mohie. Dounia dies in an accident.

Mohie tries to communicate with Dounia's mother after her daughter's death, then he contacts Moataz to find out who brought his grandmother's picture to the exhibition, so he tells him that Anis stole it. Mohie begins searching for him. In a flashback, Al Shazouli is able to bring Zahra back to life.

Mohie decides to use Al Shazouli's enchanted cloak to conjure the spirit of Dounia, and Sheikh Shaykhun advises him against it. It is revealed that Dounia did not die, but that this happened in concert with her mother and Aser.

Mohie becomes worried about Dounia leaving the house, so he locks her up. He tells his sister Maha what is happening to him, and she advises him to seek the help of Sheikh Shaykhun.

Dounia overhears recorded conversations between Al Shazouli and Anis about his enchanted cloak and closet. A flashback reveals that Fatima's father found out that his daughter was pregnant by Anis the jinn. In the present, it turns out that Dounia's soul was taken to fulfill Mohie's wish to conjure her.

Fatima's father kills his daughter, and Anis vows revenge. Dounia's mother decides to tell Mohie what happened to her daughter, and in a flashback, Al Shazouli meets Anis and asks him to kill someone.

After reading all of Mohie's grandfather's manuscripts, Mohie and Shaykhun discover what happened to Zahra and Al Shazouli. Shaykhun asks Mohie to wear Anis' cloak and read the manuscript backwards so that Dounia comes back to life. Mohie decides to burn the closet and the cloak.
