The Bumstead family goes to visit Aunt Hannah at her rural farm. Along the way, Blondie meets runaway couple Charlie and Millie, who need her help to broker a marriage agreement with their parents. When Blondie and Dagwood step in to help them, Alexander Bumstead accidentally detonates a stick of dynamite, causing a panic and a series of comical situations.
