Zawya is an art-house cinema that specialises in screening independent films targeting a small, niche market rather than the commercially-profitable mass market. The film stories may focus on the hopes, dreams and motivations of the characters in the film, rather than have the clear, goal-driven story that is popularly adopted in mainstream Hollywood films.
