“Enemy” is the new movie from the director of last year's Prisoners, and while this movie might bother some of his fans due to it being very different than his...اقرأ المزيد previous movie, I found myself enjoying this movie way more than Prisoners, and while i liked Prisoners it felt overrated for sure but this movie makes me want to see all his other movies.
So Enemy stars Jake Gyllenhall and he plays a history teacher and you can tell his character has some problems from depression; the movie makes it obvious that he is bored with life, his job and his family. But one day at work his friend at work recommends a movie for him to watch to feel better and in that movie he finds his exact look a like, and he goes to try and find him.
Now i really can't talk anymore about the plot of this movie, as digging deeper means spoiling everything, but i have to say Enemy is a fantastic movie and by far the best movie of 2014.
I say that because this isn't a traditional movie that goes like a normal one from start to end, instead we have a beginning and events that take place and a very surprising ending. The film stays away from clichés, and forces you to think about everything you see and remember them for future events that take place in the movie and it's done so well and seamless that it just feels like it's not even there which is excellent and you will find yourself watching this movie more than once to understand the full point and plot of this movie cause it will take you multiple viewings to understand what's going on.
Now this movie isn't for everyone; it's a very artsy movie and will bore certain audience types, including those who enjoyed Prisoners. So if you don't like art films you will not like this one at all. However, if you do, then find the fastest way to watch this movie and wonder about what all of it means.
The performances are great and I really didn't have any gripes with this movie after multiple viewings so you might want to watch this more than twice to fully like and understand it. I can recommend it easily to anyone looking for a different style of film,or anyone interested in something thematically unconventional.
Enemy is a beautiful movie with great directing and acting and i can't wait to see what this director's next project is.
